This is the best analogy I could think of to explain the implications of switching from paper money to cryptocurrency. The potential of this technology is just mind blowing.
Imagine 20 years ago when we carried photos in our wallets. We would have to go somewhere to get them developed. If we wanted to share them, we would physically have to hand the pictures over to someone. This also created extra bulk. But now, we have these phones that can carry thousands of photos and we can edit, share, and also download photos from others without the bulk in our wallets. (Trust me, I just finished deleting over 13,000 photos and movies from my iPhone and my phone still weighs the same.) Photos in digital form have more uses than just being visual artifacts. Anyone and their grandma can post blogs with it, get Tinder dates with it, etc. You determine its tradable value.
This is such a monumental threat to the centralized banking systems and those who have been waiting for humanity to be freed from their traps (like that spider web on the dollar bill) should appreciate this. We live in exciting times!
Now, if only I could figure out a way to pay off my school loan debt with Bitcoin...
