Everyone's favorite Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge - Dragons is back. It will be my seventh time writing about it so I am gradually exhausting the Dragon Monsters I can talk about, well, not really, there are still a ton. 😁 This time I have decided to showcase a battle involving a very, very new addition to the game and probably one of the best cards from the Riftwatchers miniset - Oshuur Constantia. She is the promo card for Riftwatchers so she is out of print already, and the only way to obtain her right now is to buy her from the market. I was lucky enough to be able to secure at least 4 copies of her from the Airdrop and exactly that many got dropped to me. I managed to snag 2 more copies asap at a very good price compared to what she is going for now and I am happily using her in Gold right now. I say all that because I really think that level 3 is where she really shines cause of the way her abilities are distributed but more about them in a few lines.

Now before getting into the stats discussion of the Monster, let's have a sneak peek into her LORE

So, fighting the Chaos Legion is in Oshuur's lineage. She must be truly inspired by the sacrifice of her ancestors and I am sure she will do everything in her power to not disappoint.

Alright, we've got some idea of who Oshuur Constantia is, after glancing at her lore. Let us now have a look at its stats and abilities at different key levels.

image.png

  • Having in mind that she is a Legendary Monster, it is expected for her to start with at least 2 special abilities but in this case the Oshuur Constantia starts with 1. This is probably due to the fact that she costs 7 mana which is probably a bit below average for a Legendary Monster. She has the Resurrect ability (when a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health; This ability can only trigger once per battle ability at level 1).
  • At level 2 her stats do not change, however, she gains her second ability - Reflection Shield (this Monster is immune to all indirect, or reflected damage; That means that it will not take damage from Blast, Thorns, Return Fire, or Magic Reflect)
  • At level 3 she gains her 3rd and final ability - Tank Heal (restores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round). Tank Heal paired with Resurrect is what actually makes this card really valuable for the Dragon Splinter.
  • Finally maxed out at level 4 the Monster has 3 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Armor and 6 Health.

Now that we know what the card does (or doesn't do) at the different levels of play, let us have a look at the battle I have chosen to showcase.

  • The line-up of the Battle and the Ruleset:

image.png

The rulesets for this battle are Aim True (attacks won't miss. Abilities like evade or flight or phase won't give any advantage. Similarly de-buff like Blind will be rendered useless) and Keep Your Distance (Monsters with Melee attack type can't be used). The mana budget is 99 which is the maximum amount so I can choose whatever Monsters I have available. All Splinters are available. I am obviously going to choose the Dragon Splinter as I want to showcase this week's Monster and my secondary Splinter will be Water this time. I am going to go with my faithful level 3 Quix. I actually now own a level 3 Sthispa but I have to get her at least to level 4 before thinking of using her in Gold League.

The first position goes to my favorite legendary card - Djinn Oshannus. I've got it here to soak potential frontal magic damage. It is also really fast, has a chance to dodge Magic attacks pointed at it, and takes reduced damage from Magic attacks that do hit it. It is a really well-rounded card.

image.png

The 2nd spot goes to the Monster I expect to contribute a lot in this battle. Runemancer Kye is one of the most powerful legendary Monsters we've seen so far in the Riftwatcher set specifically due to her Lifesteal ability paired with 3 Magic Attack. It has the potential to stack tons of health points give enough time to work.

The 3rd place in the line-up goes to another favorite Monster of mine and also a share your battle star - the Chaos Dragon. It was the most expensive (in mana terms) Monster in the game until Agor Longtail showed up. It often wreaks havoc in the enemy backline due to its Scattershot and Blast abilities paired with its Magic attack

image.png

image.png

The 4th spot is for Nerissa Tridawn. Nerissa has been one of my favorite Water casters ever since I laid my eyes on her even though I still need to level her to level 5. It's work in progress so I will get there soon.. I hope. Anyhow she's a potent caster with a large body so she does take a fair amount of beating which is exactly what we need in this battle.

Following immediately after is our protagonist Oshuur Constantia. I've got her here to support my larger Monsters who can attack from the tank spot as long as possible. She can also take a hit or two if it gets to that, while healing herself in the meantime.

Last but definitely not least another new addition to the Dragon Splinter team - the Runic Skyclaw. Not only the art of the card is great but the Monster itself is a very nice Ranged Attacker with Snipe and Flying. Yeah, it does come at a hefty price of 9 mana but with 4 attack, 6 speed a good amount of health and armor, and the aforementioned abilities it is definitely a worthy candidate for any setup which can afford its mana tag.

It is time for a quick round by round analysis:

  • So the Summoner I am going with for this battle my very own Quix. I have him at level 3 so he's not a hard pick for my gold-level battles. My enemy is rocking a level 3 Quix as well so this is a mirror match at least as far as the Summoners are concerned. However, our line-ups are significantly different. I have chosen to pick the Water Splinter as secondary, while my opponent has decided to go with the Earth one.

image.png

  • After 1 round both "tanks" have taken a bit of a beating but no side has suffered any casualties so far.

image.png

  • At the start of Round 3 you can see that the enemy Mycelic Slipspawn has fallen while my Djinn Oshannus is still haning in there but it long be for too long. It is good that my enemy has placed their Chaos Dragon in the 2nd spot so it can no longer fire randomly at my back-line which could have surely been devastating.

image.png

  • Round 4 is and my Oshannus is no more, while the enemy Chaos Dragon is still standing, and so is my Runemance Kye. It is worth noting that during Round 3 my Djinn was resurrected by Oshuur Constantia and then finished off again by the enemy.

image.png

  • Round 5 - I have actually managed to take the initiative and it seems that my strategy will prove to be superior over that of my enemy.

image.png

  • Round 6 is the last round of this battle as all that is left for me is to take down the sole survivor from the enemy team at this point - the Supply Runner. Max mana battles are always fun.

Oshuur Constantia is a great support card for the Dragon Splinter. The thing about her is that to get most bang for your buck you need to level her to level 3 to be able to take advantage of her Tank Heal. That might not be very cheap to do at her current price of $29.79 per BCX, however, bear in mind that since she cannot be obtained from packs, this might be her actual floor price, so if you feel that you need to have her, you might want to act sooner rather than later.
