Pride is one of the least common feelings among humans. Does this surprise you? ... When we meet them, something in their attitude, on their faces, reveals that they are not proud. They may be vain, proud, even arrogant; but we feel that, profoundly, they are not so happy or sure of themselves that they want to show it or to be convinced of it. Pride is the legitimate satisfaction of having accomplished our task, of doing everything we could do. There is no greater happiness than leaving the earth with this feeling of accomplishment.
