Plants are a gift.

I took lots and lots of pictures of my garden but I won’t bring all of them today. This is my entry hallway to the house, I have these varieties of Euphorbia Milii in many colors and sizes. They are all in bloom. I just transplanted some and they barely have a small bunch each.

I have been preparing this small bed for planting paprika seedlings that I just planted a few weeks ago. I prepared this plot with black soil, some leftover vegetable shells and salad greens that I have left over in the kitchen. But something happened... before I could transplant my paprika seedlings some eggplant seeds that I didn't plant started to germinate.

So it happened that in the rest of the shells that I threw into the ground were some eggplant remains that were damaged and that I cut off from eggplants. I didn’t think that the seeds would be born because I had not prepared, dried them and put them to germinate, it was just one of those surprises that nature gives us. Now the paprika seedlings have no place for planting, I could only place 5 of them in the bed next to the eggplant ones. There at the end is also growing a bean plant that came as a second surprise.

This squash plant was born and grew and is looking very nice, it already has small flower buds. I hope it’s productive because I just had one that never bore fruit so I just ate its flowers in salad, my pet turtle also likes the flowers.

As for flowers, they are growing very well. Some pinkish colored Anthuriums of a small flowered species, they have these beautiful evergreen heart leaves and their flowers stay on for a long period of time.

The terrestrial orchid, Spathoglottis Plicata is having an episode of many flowers. There are some clusters out and some others inside. It has not stopped producing flowers since last year, it’s beautiful with its small lilac orchids.

These are the Caladiums, of a diverse variety of colors. Here you can see only four types and the most striking one is the white one with small red dots on some of its leaves.

Moving on to the cacti, there are the larger cacti like the “opuntia nopal españa” with its flowers and fruits ripening and the “euphorbia láctea cristata” growing each one of a tall size according to its species and very branched.

There’s also my favorites, the smaller cacti and succulents.

The aromatic “cilantro” has already started to give small green flowers. The Rosemary plant is from a branch that I transplanted last year and its mother plant died so I was left with this transplant which already has several branches. The basil plant has its small white flowers and is still beautiful.

The chili bell pepper plants with many beautiful green and red fruits, very spicy with a very fragrant aroma and delicious with food.

The lemon tree has me on standby, it’s in its pot very leafy but without flowers. I started to put homemade flower fertilizer prepared with banana peels to start its flowering.

I pruned the fig plant at the beginning of the year and it is already producing its figs, which are green and small in size. Soon they will be purple and very sweet, ready to make my delicious recipes for fresh fig jams and marmalades.
