My Opuntias Orbiculatas are growing and branching, I transplanted less than a month ago an Opuntia cactus that I bought, for the first time I propagated it.
I cut the cactus in three parts and left the base of the cactus in case the transplant did not turn out as expected. To my surprise, all the transplants turned out well.
Two of the transplanted cacti have sprouted their offspring, only one of the three did not want to branch out, while the mother cactus is sprouting as well. Each of them is sprouting three new offspring.
This means that after a reasonable time I will be taking and cutting the offshoots from each of them and propagating them again so that I can then start marketing them.
What I find most striking are the hairs of this species of Opuntia, they do not have thorns, only these prolongations that resemble senile hairs and I am surprised to see that they are the same since they are born. Here you can see how they present their fine hairs and they are white just like their mother.
They are offshoots of Opuntia Orbiculata that measure approximately 2 cm long and the hairs that they present are already long and white.
It’s one of the species that I have always wanted to have to reproduce and now that I have it and its reproduction has been successful I’m extremely happy. I hope it is also to your liking.
