Since 2010 i have been organizing collage workshops for people who like art and want to make something creative and rather simple. I have my own collage technique based on the stained glass art and since my early days in art i managed to find a way of making it a lesson. My workshops last for three months and each student makes one artwork per month. Even though i expected artists to take part at my workshops, all of my students are people who are looking to make a beautiful craft work and relax their mind through the creative process.

Another student this time but as creative as the previous one. She chose a very famous image of Frida Kalo from a colouring book and remix it in a collage. She wanted to take a different approach than the usual and i encouraged her because she showed great care in her creations so far.

She chose coloured paper of various different hues and started cutting them with the use of the sketch as a guide. The goal was to create a set of coloured layers and assemble them to give the collage depth, make it a little more 3D. It was a really tiring process for her because she had to sketch and cut from the back side of the paper in order to keep the front side as a clean as it can be. So everything was in reverse and lot of testing was needed before assembly.

Another interesting detail that makes this artwork unique is the use of metallic coloured paper. A variety of green, red, silver and blue, all of them highly reflective, change with every move and give the feeling of motion. Very inventive idea.
