Hi Guys! In this post we are exploring on another Splinterlands ruleset. The ruleset we are focusing on is Ferocity.
In an Ferocity ruleset, units with Taunt in your lineup will take double damage from attack.
Naturally, you would want to avoid using units with Taunt ability in a Ferocity ruleset.
Lets take a look at a Modern ranked match with Ferocity as one of the ruleset. The battle restrictions are:
Ferocity and Heavy Hitters with a max mana of 47. Only Fire, Earth, Life and Dragon splinters are allowed in this battle. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

TEAM SETUP:
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quix the Devious | 4 | Summoner | |
| Uriel the Purifier | 11 | 1st | Uriel has a good armor and health and has Heal ability as well. It is a good tank without Taunt ability. |
| Carnage Titan | 11 | 2nd | My secondary tank and also main DPS. Carnage Titan's Double Strike plus good melee attack would cut through opponent frontline fast. |
| Venari Crystalsmith | 4 | 3rd | This is my healer to keep my tanks alive as long as possible. |
| Whelp Herder | 3 | 4th | Since I am not expecting the opponent to use Taunt unit, I decided to add in unit with Opportunity ability to take out opposing weak health unit |
| Berix Snakeye | 10 | 5th | Another DPS unit but with Weapon Training ability. The Weapon Training ability is to give more offensive power to my lineup. |
| Clockwork Aide | 4 | 6th | Clockwork Aide is a very important unit for me and will act as my back tank. Clockwork Aide has only 1 health but has a high armor. It would act as a good target for opposing unit with either Opportunity or Sneak. Clockwork also has no attack and thus will now gain 2 ranged attack from the Weapon Training of Berix Snakeye. On top of that, Clockwork Aide has Swiftness ability as well and would give all my unit +1 speed. |
| Total Mana: | 21 |
Opponent Lineup:
My opponent went with a Life splinter lineup with General Sloan as the summoner. My Quix totally counter General Sloan. Add to the fact that the opponent is only using a level 2 summoner, this should be an easy battle for me.
End of Round 1:
The opponent very quickly lost the front tank which wasn't really a good tank in the first place. Jared Scar is powerful but it is not a tank. To be frank I feel the opponent was too confuse on what units to use in this ruleset.
End of Round 2:
This was more one-sided than I expected. I wiped out the opponent lineup inside 2 round while hardly getting any damage.
KEY STRATEGY
My strategy for this battle was to use a good non Taunt tank to hold off the opponent attack while my backline DPS can quickly overrun the opponent lineup. I also employed a low health unit at the back to attract enemy's Sneak and Opportunity attack.
SUMMARY
In a Ferocity ruleset, do not use Taunt unit. I know Taunt unit usually have very good health and armor but getting hit with double damage is not worth it as it will still die very fast.
The other thing to look out for is such no Taunt unit is probably going to be use, unit with low health now becomes very vulnerable. You should consider using unit with Opportunity to cause havoc in the opponent backline.

My guild, The Guild of Kingshaven, is also looking for new members. For added incentive to joining us, our guild leader will also be assigning Runi to any new member that can actively participate in brawl battles and give donation to our guild buildings. Runi is extremely powerful and is the only unit that has the Rebirth ability.
