This post is not going to be about New Year’s resolutions. As I welcome more and more silver strands in my hair with each trip on this rock, I also gain the understanding that no matter how great the plans, they do not always pan out as one initially would have hoped.
Of course, it does not mean I do not have ideas for the year ahead. I have a few. If there is anything I wish to improve, it is to spend more time engaging and writing on Hive and sharing on how things eventually turn out. Especially at these quiet times we are currently observing. I am not discouraged one bit about it. I am one of those who will be here until all the lights are turned off, and I am confident that is not any time soon! How so? Haven’t you seen the price? Is this not the time for panic? The value and culture of the Hive community have always trumped the monetary value of the Hive, the token, for me. And the core of the Hive community is still very present and alive. There are highs and lows in every journey. Hive’s journey is no exception to that. We have seen all of this before, and on we go, steadfast and unshaken! _{I believe most of us are here for the vibes anyway! Truly! Right?!} While there is a decline in people being honest or even open about the world around them, there is palpable and justified fear, especially for those who feel they need to protect their families or feel they have something to lose, censorship-resistant spaces like Hive only gain their importance in my view. They are the last strongholds for the brave and the willing to share the untwisted reality they are witnessing in real time. Our world is increasingly becoming dangerous. It is becoming Orwellian. The Ministry of Truth’s machines openly, in bright daylight, are rewriting history. This probably took too dark a turn for many. I believe it to be the truth, even so. For that alone, Hive is going to continue being a beam of light in total darkness! That is the real value here. For here, if you write something, it is here to stay. Whether you act with good intentions or malice, at least there is no option for flip-flopping at a later date. _{What do you find valuable about Hive apart from the monetary value?} There is a thing I recently noticed while reading posts on Hive. Some of you begin to sound almost as pessimistic about the world order and humans as I have been for a good while. Right when I decided to work on being more optimistic. Shoot! I mean. Yeah. It is probably not very likely. What I do hope for is that we can remain peaceful ourselves despite the turmoil. That we look at ourselves from within and be good humans to each other. We can do as much, right? Or is it too much to ask and hope for? I am not blind to how evil, misled, and divided people have become. I am not naive about the fact that many do not stop to think about the works carried out while fueled by hate and frenzy for profit and power. _{Are you a good human? Are you a force for good? It is something everybody should ask themselves every day. Yes, she is still up! I have no heart to take it down. Can you tell I have a slight obsession with Christmas ornaments? My collection keeps growing every year. I love the tradition of looking for the tree. The moment it is brought into the home, it fills it with the heavenly scent of its needles. The Christmas music in the background while I carefully select adornments for each branch. It is a whole process of childlike joy and good vibes. Every day she lies next to it and looks at the lights and reflections on the baubles and tinsel. She playfully scurries around it and nibbles on the branches here and there. Tinsel is one of her favorite playthings as well. Pūciņa is approaching a very senior age ( she is about 18 years old, it is hard to believe). Having her with us for another Christmas and seeing her enjoy the tree is an honor and a blessing.
