Yes, I finally did it! After a week of creating accounts on tons of websites, sending photos of my IDs and Bills and selfies with my ID and going crazy, approvals have finally started to come in and I finally managed to turn FIAT money into Bitcoin.
I am just testing the waters right now to see where I get the best rates (since bank fees are different), but here they are, my new babies:
I know that for many people this is just dirt under the fingers, but for me it's a beginning. I plan to go for similar transfers of around $100 in a few other places, then stick to one and buy a bit more.
My plan is to create a portfolio: half to keep in my wallet, hoping for the main currencies to take off (probably 3-4 currencies) and half will be tested on the market. Just like I did with the first two transactions - the first one went straight into Poloniex, the other one is still in the wallet.
Hopefully I won't lose all the money - but I will surely share my story with you and we'll see together how it goes!
