I got hit with quite a metaphorical snow ball last Friday.

A gap in posts from me usually means only one thing, life is a little bit extra.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with the season, but oof, my motivation be lagging these days. I mean, some of my meh attitude may be due to the reality that as I did my school schedule for the week this morning

Shenanigans ensued this past weekend...

For one forty-eight hour stretch between Friday morning and Saturday night, I was quite the whirling Kat-dervish. Our soon to be son-in-law's twenty-first birthday was this past week, and last year I made

My little reprieve is rapidly coming to an end. This pause has been so restorative, but also it has made me not want to push quite so hard all the time. I am sure many of you feel that way when you finally

After an intense last decade, and an especially insane last year, I have had an opportunity to just stop. The holiday hustle is over, school doesn't resume til the 20th, and I have removed myself from

Yesterday, it assaulted us with all manner of powdery floof, and as I looked out the window this morning upon arising, I may have uttered (okay bellowed), "FINALLY!!!" You see, the weather has

Even though, as a farmer, rancher, homesteader, I tend to think of spring as the start of the new year, this time of year I do tend to get a bit pensive about what's ahead of me and what is to come. I

Wow. To say my year went out with a bang is an understatement. I left the ranch on Sunday the 28th and didn't stop hurtling until last night when I returned to the ranch. Let's just say Zoomers live up

I have discovered it! The difference between the biological sexes! The Cranberry Conundrum! Yes, I may sound a bit beyond high strung and more than slightly insane, but honestly, this discovery is ground

Moments ago, I finished class #3 out of 4. Yesterday, I thought I was already done with one class as I finished up class #2, when suddenly, as I checked my assignments for that class, I saw two MORE

You know, taking four days off really is quite restorative. Okay, I only took four days off from SCHOOL, I still did a ton of stuff really. The first two days of my vacation I spent catching up on things

Usually this time of year encompasses a whole host of planning in my realm. Thanksgiving is busy enough, but our son's birthday is usually one to three days on the other side of Thanksgiving depending

Every city has something special about it. Sure, if you just listen to the news, you'd probably be too terrified to step foot in most cities, at least our big American ones, but that's the cool thing about

During our recent foray to Chicago for our son's Navy bootcamp graduation we had several adventures. Most of them were fun, some were educational, but one of them was downright surreal. Our son's girlfriend

I just can't keep up. There, I said it. Between school, the ranch, whirlwind trips to town to deal with all the things, I am kaput. I am not sad though. My life is swell. It's just not slowing down. At
