Hi, friends. I hope you’re having a great day. I’m sharing this story about a dream I had on Saturday. I was looking for a place to post it, and I thought this community would be a good fit. It was more of a nightmare than a dream, so here it is.
There I was, walking through the halls of that enormous museum; I’d always wanted to visit one, and just like that—without planning it with Deiby—I was able to fulfill that dream. With the excitement of someone about to discover a hidden treasure, I walked quickly. When we finally walked through the enormous glass doors, I felt like I was floating; the high walls, the echo of our footsteps, and the scent of fresh paint and old wood filled my chest with a vibrant joy. I turned toward my husband, ready to let out a laugh of pure emotion, but the joy froze before it could escape my lips.
A heavy, metallic clinking sound broke the calm of the place.
From the shadow of a column, a short man walked toward us with slow, deliberate steps. What struck me most was not his size, but the thick bunch of old, rusty keys hanging around his neck, clinking against his chest with every movement. When he stopped in front of us, he smiled without any warmth. His mouth was almost toothless; he had barely any teeth left—just his two upper canines and a single tooth on his lower gum.
“You can’t laugh while you’re here,” he said in a thick, cold voice, dragging out his words.
Immediately, I felt an uncomfortable chill down the back of my neck. Deiby took my hand, and even though we tried to ignore the strange guard, the atmosphere was no longer the same. We kept walking down the hallways, but the silence grew heavy. As the minutes passed, I realized we were the only ones there—the people had vanished. I couldn’t hear a single whisper; there were no footsteps, no guards. It was just the two of us, lost in a maze of empty hallways.
“Let’s go, Deiby. Something isn’t right here,” I whispered, squeezing her cold fingers.
We hurried toward the large exit door, catching a glimpse of the streetlight through the glass.
We were just a few meters from the exit when we sensed something strange happening beneath our feet. We didn’t even have time to scream. The floor split in half, and we plummeted down a steep, slippery ramp that swallowed us into the depths of the museum. We landed in an underground room, plunged into almost total darkness, where the air smelled of dampness and mustiness.
In the dim light, horror paralyzed me. All around us, lined up on the concrete floor, were several people lying down. They were tightly bound by thick ropes that crisscrossed their chests and arms. I tried to get up to run away, but before I could take a single step, I felt the roughness of the ropes wrapping around my own body and Deiby’s. In the blink of an eye, we were trapped just like the others.
He moved with great elegance, swaying from side to side. He approached the first person lying there, bent down, and sniffed him deeply, then moved on to the next, repeating the same ritual with each of us. I could hear the sound of her breathing as she searched for our scent, our essence. When she finished, her dark eyes sought out the man with the keys, who now revealed a pronounced hump in the dim light.
“Yes, you’ll all do,” the woman declared in a voice that reverberated off the walls.
“Arrange them and take them to the hall,” she said.
My body trembled with fear. The hunchback approached us holding an old glass bottle, forcing us to open our mouths, and made us drink a thick and terribly bitter liquid, a metallic taste that burned my throat. I tried to resist; I wanted to scream, but I couldn’t make a sound. Almost instantly, my eyelids began to feel very heavy, and the darkness of that room blended with absolute blackness in my mind. I didn’t know anything else. I fell asleep and didn’t know anything else until I woke up—but in my own room, staring at my ceiling, my body still trembling.

That's all, folks. I hope you enjoyed it.
