I read somewhere around here today a post where it says the Steemit CEO Ms. Powell says that ad revenue has been stabilized at $20,000.00 a month. A far cry from the $100,000.00 that was expected, but still not bad. You know with active user numbers going down and less people on Steemit every day I think that 20k is not bad at all.
Now the thing that has me wondering is if Steemit, Inc needs 800,000 Steem a month to run its operation, this is about $120,000.00, where does it get the remainder of this money? The Steemit account is not powering down and even though I am quite sure @freedom is a Steemit Inc account and I believe is the biggest income earner on Steemit and even if this account's earnings go to the monthly upkeep, it still doesn't quite add up. You know a $100,000.00 deficit is not that easy to finance.
And salaries have to be paid, nobody is going to work if they don't get paid. So is there any secret Steemit account from which they grab there funds? Or is Steemit funded by funds given by the bigger accounts? This could be possible because these accounts do have a lot of power when decisions are made, their voice is heard loud and strong.
But it really worries me that Steemit, Inc is not getting all the income it needs, Steemit does need more visitors and yet the whales are still insisting on just upvoting Steem or Steemit related articles that end up in the trending pages, I really believe they should vote for the best content around. Today I saw a post by a whale, who must have deleted the content because the content of the post was just the word DELETED, it has a $10.00 payout so it is in the HOT page.
Obviously this whale was not looking for upvotes but he still got them because he is on a lot of voters automatic votes list, and frankly it is ridiculous to see this particular post in the HOT page, OK there are posts that suck, like the burning posts or the potato posts but at least those have some content, good or bad but still content. So really don't you think you should at least look at what your bots are voting for? Upmewhale supposedly votes manually now, so how come they gave this post a vote?
This is just an example of how things are working these days around here, the circle jerk is really killing this place, and I think Steemit, Inc is going down with it. Come on, just read what you upvote, that would go a long way into fixing some of Steemit's and Steem's problems.
