So I have a small bit of knowledge about stable coins and what they are used for. Mainly as a way to ensure that you don't lose money because you hold a crypto coin that might be going through a very volatile season. Ok, I know this is not even close to the only uses but to me that is its main use.
This brings me to the question I want to make. What is the difference in holding my money in a stable coin than holding the fiat currency it is pegged to? The truth of the matter is I don't see that much sense in stable coins, ok most are pegged more or less to the value of one US Dollar, so actually when we own a stable coin we are relying on the stability of a fiat currency.
Being that most crypto enthusiasts believe that fiat is or will soon be a thing of the past, why would you put your money in a coin that is pegged to a fiat currency that is destined to fail? Yes, I know, I am an ignoramus but really, I see no sense in this. If we don't believe in fiat, shouldn't we stay away from it, at least in our crypto endeavors?
