I have never been a person known for his perseverance, I get tired or just give up before getting too involved in anything. The one thing I did want to be was a professional football player (soccer if you are in the US) but even at that I wasn't exactly the most active in training, I would train when I wanted to, I was quite good at it I was a midfielder. And then I got my meniscus torn, and that was it for football.
I passed through school OK, no setbacks, I never intended to be a star student so I just worked for passing grades. But when I got to college I just decided I didn't want to study any more, I kind of have authority issues, also I don't like being told what I have to do. So I never got a University diploma. Then when I got to have a job I never really tried the butt licking that goes on there, I just did my job, I think in a very good fashion but never got beyond where I was, so I also quit.
So I have tried to make money online and the same thing happens, I start something but in a few days or weeks I just get sick of it and quit, I have done this a number of times, never reaching my goals , not even close. Of course the goal is to be able to make a living off of the internet, but it seems kind of dumb for me to aspire to that.
But I do have one place where I have more or less managed to reach my goals and believe it or not that place is Steemit. I have not been steady and also I have cashed out sometimes or I would be much further along, but I have set goals here, for example I want to increase my REP and as you can see I am close to getting to be REP 64, no small feat if you take into account two things, I am not a good writer and I don't usually interact to try and get favor and votes from other people. I have that REP through sheer determination and the fact that I stopped thinking that I shouldn't post what I wrote because it was crap, not because it isn't crap but because frankly now I don't care about what it is I post it and if somebody sees it and likes and votes for it OK, if not well I lost nothing and I was still able to get my work out there. Another goal I had- I was just cashing out and never getting beyond 100 SP, so I set my eyes on 500 SP and being a minnow and there I am.
Yes, I do have other goals which I doubt I will complete but here on Steemit I have actually reached some goals which for me is a great thing and actually one of the main reasons why I still try to do something here, because it sure as hell isn't for the money I am making. Right now I do have a problem, I have no goals for Steemit, getting to Dolphin is just to long in the future to look at it as a goal so what goal could I set now?
