The problem is chloroquine has side effects, I used it three times, the three times I had malaria, and it is awful, the side effects include hair loss, stomach aches, itching, blurry vision and if you overdose you die, I really don't know if a very sick person can tolerate it. I wouldn't try it as a cure without knowing, from a well informed person, how much I need. So I think the advise to not medicate yourself is quite true in this case.
