PALnet is probably a good idea, you know you are able to acquire some PALcoin just for doing what you are already doing, posting on Steemit and the only thing you have to do is add the palnet tag, any PALcoin owner who votes for you adds to your PALcoin cache.
It is in its infancy, some people point to it to prove that 50/50 works. I wonder why? PALnet is not yet a proven thing, it looks good but we really don't know what route it will take, it could well just whither and die or become big and powerful for all we know. So we really don't know, we cannot use PALnet as a role model, at least not yet.
PALnet is already having problems, the one I last saw was some hate posts or comments and PALnet management has already made an announcement about this. Does this mean that PALnet is centralized, because it can ban people? I wouldn't know if that is the case, I personally think that nothing about the crypto world is fully decentralized there are some people who always wield enough power to take and change decisions. It's just that it appears that thinking something is really decentralized gives some people a warm, fuzzy feeling.
Now this does bring me to the one thing that worries me about PALnet, according to what I know as I said before you can acquire PALcoin by buying or by the amount of votes your activity on Steemit gets, of course votes by people who do have PAL powered up. Now I fear that this place will take the same way of Steem a bunch of people who already own a lot of Steem or have a big following and get big votes on Steemit will become whales here, and it is already happening you just have to look at someone who gets a $30.00 vote on Steemit gets a lot of PAL so we come back to being influenced by circle jerk voting, by bid bots, by self upvotes on Steemit, and in this case it is worse because PALnet will get no benefit because at least on Steemit guys have to buy Steem to get big, or at least have good contacts so Steem does partially benefit.
.
Is this a bad thing? Well it does cause disruption on Steemit, a bunch of people who have too much power is never that good, but I guess the people on PALnet have already figured this out and there will be no problem with it. I am just pointing this out I personally am perfectly OK with receiving whatever PAL I can get from the posts I make on Steemit, but I would not like this to become an issue later on because it wasn't addressed now.
