Well Bitcoin took another plunge and is below $9,000.00 this of course has the same effect as usual, all alt coins are down. This is as always to be expected and i think is just temporary Bitcoin will make its usual comeback and will again be around $9,500.00 soon.
As for Steem well it is still down there getting closer and closer to 90th place in market cap with its market value at less than $50,000,000.00, which is not that good and the bad part is it doesn't look like there will be any upward movements in the foreseeable future. Right now it is going for less than $0.14.
Of course right now we have SteemFest which might bring some good news that could push the price up, some news that will make Steem more noticeable to investors, I fail to see what it could be but the possibility exists.
Now let's look at some positives, Steem Engine has been positive in fact I think if it wasn't for the creation of tribes activity on Steemit would be way lower than it is right now and even with this we still have low activity but the tribes I think are reaching their limit creativity and novelty only goes so far, of course I like looking at my Steem Engine portfolio and watch it grow every day, pennies a day but it grows.
Then we have Splinterlands which also seems to bring a lot of activity into the system, Steem is spent here, and it is I believe the most advertised piece of the Steem blockchain, it is working OK, even though it also has its problems.
Then let's look at the drawbacks, I have seen some people who were huge supporters of downvoting
having second thoughts about it, it is not going as they expected it would, personally I find it laughable to have downvoting guilds, these are just bully rings attacking individuals with group SP, and I think it's because most people are cowards and are afraid of a backlash, if you don't like something use your down vote fuck the consequences, show people you've got the balls to do it.
Now there are a lot of big guys who really are into downvoting, but it sometimes just makes me wonder if what they really want is to eliminate their competition for rewards, because you know if you harass someone no matter how evil you think he or she is that person will eventually just go. And that is Steem that I don't know what will happen with it, price going down I guess.
Then of course by now everyone knows HF21 was just a move by the big accounts to get as much money as possible because there is the possibility that this ship might sink, so I guess that is where all the propaganda for HF21 came from.
The way I see it Steemit can be saved if Steem's price can somehow be made to go up, right now the reward pool is so small that very few people are getting any rewards at all except of course the circle jerk everyone tries to say doesn't exist, these guys are at least making something all the rest, not much.
OF course we do have the saviors which are SMT's and communities a lot of people seem to think these will fix most of the problems here, what worries me is that we have had a test net that didn't work another one that might work and the people who should be looking into this having a great time at SteemFest, I think that is quite irresponsible of them.
And the last thing I want to talk about is the posts a few guys make every day about how power ups are beating power downs every day. Let's look at this seriously, if I bought Steem at $1.00 I am not going to power down to sell it for $0.14, especially if we are talking about people who bought $10,000.00 or more, even worse there are people who bought at $4.00, these people won't power down these guys are praying or whatever they do that Steem's price does go up so they can at least not lose so much, plus Steem Inc isn't powering down.
Then we have the other side, people are powering up, well every day there are people with thousands of dollars who look at crypto and it is almost impossible for not a few of them to notice that Steem's price is so low and could all of a sudden jump, after all it has been at $8.00, so they buy a couple grand and if they read the thing power up and hope the price explodes. I have been reading about reducing the powering down time to 4 weeks, that idea probably comes from these type of people, investors who might want their money back kind of quick.
I have seen many people worried about how Steem is behaving, and in fact I've seen some bets going around that Steem will become a shit coin in 2020, let's try to avoid this. HOw? Well for one stop all the dumb ass shit that has been happening since HF21 which has only worked to run away authors, I am not making this up look at @penguinpablo statistics.
