Paying your taxes sucks. No way around it.
I have quite a few friends in the crypto community lamenting this fact.
Please guys, pay your taxes!
It is NOT worth going to jail!
There are great services out there such as bitcoin.tax that helps people pay taxes on their crypto gains. Also, be sure to check your e-mails for 1099 forms from exchanges.
Most importantly, please consult your local tax professional to make sure everything is in order.
