We know not what started the fire,
Nor did we know
Why they invaded our lands
And took our men as captives.
They want our oil and gold, Mama would say
Papa would say, they came to erode our culture
They want our men to lie with other men
They want our women to lie with other women
Well, all that no longer matters now:
For the peacemakers are now here
They come, like the intruders,
Bearing bombs and guns.
The peacemakers want our trust in the day
But they sneak into our huts by night
To rape our women and daughters.
And by the time the dust of the war had settled,
We saw the wolves beneath the sheep clothing.
We realized that the peacemakers
Were nothing but peacebreakers.
