As the blazing fire of Covid-19 continues to rage throughout the world, most countries of the world have declared a lockdown in a bid to flatten the curve. The modalities of the lockdown varies from one geographical location to the other depending on the perceived threat posed by the virus.
Generally, however, the lockdown requires a sit-at-home that spans several hours of the day. The situation has become so boring that even the most introverted individuals want to see the sky again. In no particular order, this article examines five things you can do with your lockdown time.
1. Exercise
One negative side of the lockdown is that it by default gives you more room to stay idle from work and physical activity. But you should be smart enough to know that idleness can result to health problems.
So, one of the best things you can do during this period is to exercise yourself. If the lockdown is relaxed enough in your part of the world, you could daily go for a long walk, jog, or ride your bicycle. If not, you can exercise yourself indoors.
2. Read Your Dream Books
In terms of the free time at your disposal right now, I am telling you for free that this lockdown is a lifetime opportunity that may never come your way again until your retirement. So, this should be a time for you to read your dream books, as many of them that you are able to lay your hands upon.
Personally, I have read good three books in two weeks. And that's the best I've ever done all my life. Thanks to the lockdown. You can do the same thing on your end.
3. Meditate/Pray
One of the shortcomings of the traditional way of life pre-Covid19 is that most people are always in haste, haste to work and money, haste to beat deadlines. In all of this, we give very few room for prayer and meditation.
Consequently, this lockdown could be the perfect time for you to reflect, meditate, and pray. These activities open you up spiritually, uplifting your soul.
4. Spend Time With Your Immediate Family
If you live with your family, this lockdown period provides a perfect opportunity for you to spend ample time with your immediate family members. It doesn't matter whether you're a dad, a mother, a daughter or a son, there comes a time in your life when you'll realize that your family is all that you've got.
So, use this opportunity to solidify the bound between you and your immediate family. This is not the time to lock yourself up in your room all day long; it is a time to share love and smile with members of your household.
5. Avoid the Bad News
The mainstream media has been hijacked by the coronavirus pandemic to the extent that hardly is any other thing reported. That is not a problem, at least on the surface evaluation of things, but the problem is that most of the news being reported are bad news.
The danger about bad news is that it destabilizes you psychologically and can cause you health problems if you continue to care about it. So, take your time to avoid the bad news flying around now. Watch old football matches, listen to music, watch comedy shows, revisit your old picture gallery. Do everything but avoid bad news.
