France, in the mid-fourteenth century, was hit by the black death, an epidemic of bubonic plague that approximately ended with about a third of the population in some places in the region. For years, it was speculated on the reason for this rapid spread of the disease, until it was located and indicated the rats as the main culprits. A Plague Tale: Innocence tells the story of Hugo, five years old, and the adolescent Amicia, who will have to escape from the Inquisition through a stage eaten away by the disease.
A Plague Tale: Innocence is defined as a title of adventure, stealth and action in the third person, in which light and darkness will be very important, and in which the puzzles and jigsaw will mark the development of the game, trying not to be detected neither by human beings nor by the rats that are devouring the country. These animals appear in waves, as if they were an animal tsunami, looking for any human being as food. To avoid them we have to use light sources or the same fire, trying to even graze them to throw them with our rivals.
Using Amicia and her sling, and instructing our little brother, we will be breaking bluffs, extinguishing candles or setting fires, while strengthening the bond between both brothers and discovering an emotional narrative that seeks to explore kindness in cruel times like medieval times.
Also known as plague.

at least I do not know them
The gameplay is clear and simple, and has three pillars: exploration, infiltration and puzzles. There are also some moments of action and combat, but they are more thought to integrate some variety to the development. It is true, of course, that as we progress we have more and more options to choose between infiltration and combat, something that is appreciated. In general, it constantly introduces new mechanics, giving a lot of dynamism to the gameplay, in a quite varied development.
I think A Plague Tale: Innocence knows how to combine its ingredients with great success to never give you time to get bored. It may be wrong to be a bit simple - a shame, because in the last chapter it shows that a higher difficulty feels great - but I understand that developers have preferred to make an adventure that everyone can enjoy without too many complications. There is a 'difficult' mode that is not explicit, which consists of deactivating the HUD visuals or warnings in the options, such as the indicator that the enemies are watching us, which complicates things a lot.
It has a more than decent duration for a game that is launched at a slightly reduced price. Of average hard between eight and ten hours, in function of which we stopped. I, personally, recommend taking it easy. There are many secrets to be found, and not only are we going to discover collectibles, but also small moments and situations that help to delve into the story.
The title of Asobo is not particularly rejuvenable, but it does allow us to see what we need to achieve in each chapter and individually replay them. It would have been great if we had unlocked something to find them; give us some incentive to return to look for them. Simply, an art gallery would have been great, because artistically the game is a real pass.
In a way, A Plague Tale: Innocence has been for me the cure for the plague suffered by video games; that plague of open worlds, artificially stretched duration, games as a service ... That yes, they can be great and give us many hours of fun, but every once in a while you feel like something more collected; something that does not even matter for a second and where all the content has reason to be.
Yes, the new Asobo Studio is a very simple, but it is very, very good. He does not try to cover more than he can, and prefers to do little and well that much and badly. It has a good history, good characters, great moments and a very varied development, which is based on a magnificent technical section for a project of these characteristics. If you want an adventure that we see less and less, I think A Plague Tale: Innocence will not disappoint you.
