Alongside the most anticipated announcement of the latest Pokemon game, Nintendo also announced the new cloud-based Pokemon storage system that will be set to released in 2020 called Pokémon Home. while details are slow to be released, we know that he will serve as storage system all Pokémon that appear in the new game Pokémon Sword and Shield.
After some speculation online, it was confirmed that any Pokémon that does not appear in the Galar Region in these games will not be able to be transferred over to the cloud-based system. this was a disappointment for many has its predecessor called Pokémon Bank has been storing Pokémon for all prior released games on the 3DS system. This means that some Pokemon like Legendaries of past games will not be transferrable. What is still unknown is if that will remain like that towards the future.
However, it will include compatibility with Pokemon Go from mobile devices which will be interesting to see as the game is close to releasing Generation Five which are not necessarily compatible with the upcoming game. Pokemon Let’s Go will also be supported which signal that most of the first generation Pokemons will be supported. Details regarding storage capacities and pricing are still unknown but will be key as I recall the Pokemon Bank being somewhat expensive for its uses. However, this will be exciting for long time Pokemon players!
Thanks!
