Snakes rarely attack humans, they only do when they consider you as a threat. The threat you pose may be knowingly or unknowingly, but they don't want to know that, once you are a threat to them they attack.
HOW I GOT MY FIRST SNAKE BITE
On the 10th of June 2013, which was a Monday, i had a class by 8am, so I woke up early to spread the clothes I washed the previous day which were not dry. I was already spreading my cloth beside my hostel when I felt a sharp pain on my right leg, I thought it was the grass, I looked down to confirm what it was, it was a small green snake, i had stepped on it, before I could run and scream for help, it bit me again on my left leg. I ran to the front of my hostel, sat down on the floor and screamed for help. At first, everyone thought I was joking and didn't believe me, until I screamed harder before they could believe. Everybody came out with different kinds of rope to tie my leg with, a guy name Kayode brought out a new blade and cut my leg o that the poison will go out. I was later carried to one hunter and herbalist living close by, before we could get there I was half past dead and demanding for water but people around said I shouldnt be given water unless they want me to die. When we got to the herbalist, he cut my leg at different areas which I didn't feel when he was cutting and used a local herbal mixture called "Aparo' which directly translates to "poison killer" to rub the cuts. After some minutes I was beginning to feel better and was later taken to the school clinic.
This is how I got bitten and treated
HOW I ESCAPED A SECOND SNAKE BITE ATTACK
I was helping @ewuoso to clean his poultry which is in the picture above round 9pm yesterday. There was no current supply, so I had to use my phone's flashlight to see. We put saw dust on the floor, so that when the chickens excrete we can park them easily. I was parking the excrete of the chicken and I was half way done when I went to pick new saw dust to put on the area o had cleaned. I was at a single spot spraying the saw dust, I wanted to pick up the shovel to continue parking when I saw a snake on the shovel ready to strike.
I was shocked, immediately I went out to look for what I will use to kill it. I was beside the snake for nothing less than five minutes, if I had mistakenly stepped on it, I would have being bitten again. One thing that still baffles me toll today is how the snake got there. Even when I told @ewuoso, he didn't believe me.
