Things I've said

Last week I wrote about using music to say things I sometimes felt incapable of saying, using it to convey my emotions my words might inadequately describe. I thought I'd stay on a similar theme this week as well, with a twist.

Today, I'm sharing music with titles of things I've said in various times and to assorted people in my life; all of them are things I've said multiple times and will say again in different situations.

"Got your six," means, I've got your back, that I'm looking out for you, something I've said (and done) on occasion with a select group of people. It's a military phrase, directions are often referred to as points on a clock face when in relation to a person where twelve is front, three is right, nine is left and six is to the rear obviously, the other numbers are also referred to. The phrase has made its way from there into general usage in some circles and one never says it without meaning it and unless one is prepared to do what's required to actually watch someone's back, be there for them.

I've used Five finger death punch above, simply because I don't know anyone else who has done a song titled Got your six and I love this song.

"Every rose has its thorn," isn't the most sage piece of wisdom one can give out however it's certainly true and I've said it now and then. Good things can come from adversity is what it means and it can relate to people also...humans are complicated beings and none of us are perfect, we're fallible and flawed but despite that we can still have something valid to offer. Like the rose, beautiful to behold and fragranced, but thorned, so can humans be and none of us are without our flaws.

Here, I decided to go with the Miley Cyrus version of the track rather than the original version by Poison. They are both good, I just like the newer version a little better despite being around when the original was released and liking it a lot.

"I need you,"...Hmm, need or want? I guess that depends on the situation and one's perspective. I've said both though, obviously to very special people, and have received favourable responses fortunately. I never said it in a way that indicated dependency though, just love and desire and a deep-seated need to be close to that person because they made me feel more complete within myself, a need to be a part of something greater than myself.

This track is by Tim McGraw featuring his wife, Faith Hill I like it a lot and have seen it performed live which was pretty special; these two obviously get it.
