It's been a minute or two since my last Lego-related post and to be quite frank I'm not sure why I've left it so long; I'm not the lazy type, far from it, but I guess I just had other things to write about and besides, I haven't spent much time doing anything Lego-related for a while. That changed last week though.
Recently I decided to build something which makes a change from all the dismantling I've been doing as per this post, and worked on a racing truck set I had bought a long time ago. It's only a small build but was fun and has the cool element of being a pull-back truck meaning one can pull it back to wind up the motor and release it so it propels itself along; not quite Harry Potter style magic, but magic all the same. (Ok, it's not magic at all.)
Here's a few shots I took of the build process and a couple of finished shots as well.
As with all Lego Technic builds it begins with the motor and frame. The grey thing in the shot above is the pull-back motor with some of the initial framework already added on. I've also included one of the body parts showing a shot of the sticker going on using tweezers.
Below and following is a few shots of the process to completion. As I said, it's not a big build with only two hundred and twenty seven pieces, I'm used to builds with two to three thousand and more, but it was just as fun to build, it just took less time.
This set is a 2-in-1 set meaning it can be dismantled and made into an open-wheel race car, also pull-back driven, and I'll probably do that down the track to see how it comes out.
Putting Lego together is always enjoyable and relaxing for me, a chance to put aside other things that roll around in my noggin and focus on the plans, finding the right parts and getting the set assembled. The satisfaction of the process is always there and seeing something come together to completion adds to it.
Feel free to comment if you'd like, I'm always happy to respond.
