There's a great deal to be said for having less people around oneself but there's a caveat to that...Less of the wrong people around oneself is how it should read. There's plenty of the right people if one is careful to find and vet them. Lone wolf existence is difficult, there's many examples of this and having the right people around makes life a little easier, again, many examples of this.
