I think if more people lived like this they would be far happier. I know people will so many things they don't know what to do with them. The keep accumulating stuff, and debt to get them and rather than enjoy the things and what they could bring to their life, they worry about the debt.
I know a guy who just had to have a ski boat. He spent $60,000 on one, then had to get all the best gear, and also ended up changing his vehicle to tow it...He used it two or three times and it sits there now...He still pays out the debt on it though...He's on to the next thing though, whatever takes his fancy, and there's some more debt to go along with it. He ends up selling the stuff, sometimes for much less than he owes and rolls the debt into the next, or his mortgage. He's not a very happy camper.
It's not just people with big things either, it's every single day. I did a post a while back about a silver buying group I put together at work. They found out I bought metals and they wanted to also. Rather than take from their savings they all agreed to go without something to get the money...Some would forego their morning coffee, and big lunch, streamline their trips and save fuel money...The still lived, just made adjustments. The group have bought hundreds of ounces of silver between us...Some more than others depending on what they have saved, but all through going without, just a little bit.
It seems you are on the right track, and whatever else happens, will certainly enjoy those hobbies when you're able to do them, because you worked for it!
