You're on the right track for sure, from the expenditure perspective and the food production thing also. People are so reliant upon supply chains and most never put a second of thought into what my happen if they were disrupted.
I'm a bit of a prepper to be honest, and that ethos extends to all aspects of life including my personal skills, providing for myself, financial matters and expenditure. Spending commensurate to one's income isn't in fashion right now, people seem to spend well beyond their means and not care about the repercussions - The're always be more...But in truth that's not the case.
There's a lot to be said for living a little smaller, spending less, consuming less, wanting less.
So many have been cut so deeply by covid and then there's people like us who, whilst affected, have been able to make it all work a little better.
let's see where it goes from here, how far the covid-pain will penetrate. Based on what I know I doubt we have seen the true pain of it yet.
