I didn't want transportation on the weekend, I wanted to walk, so I walked 4 kilometers with a friend. There's nothing like walking to the nearest city with a good childhood friend catching up on his family, the community, and everything around. The friend is quite poor but very honest - he's not stolen or done anything bad because he's poor. I admire that a lot. At the end of our walk, I found a store and said, "Hey, let's grab a soda with bread." He was very happy and said yes. I'm sure he doesn't drink soda often because of his difficult situation, that made me happy.
A while later, while I was waiting for the bus, another friend came by, very drunk. I grew up with him too, so I called out to him and he said, "Hey, buy me a soda." I happily agreed and went to buy him one. I advised him to stop drinking so much, and he disappeared. I was glad he didn't ask for money, but I thought he'd probably trade the soda for a drink... oh well.
Then I said to the store owner, "Hey, I'm buying for everyone here, I should buy for myself too," so I got a soda as well, thinking about the pleasant conversation and catching up with friends. Nothing is more invaluable than walking with a friend. The transportation caught up, but I preferred the walk to share with the first friend - that's priceless.
Later, I stopped to have my third coffee of the day.
