What can I ever write about Diablo 3? It's a game we've been waiting for years. At the same time it is a game that has been with us for years and many are still returning to it. It's been over six years ago, so we could dive into new battles against hordes of hell-demons. Or 5 years. Eventually, 4. Diablo 3 has gone through all possible platforms for years, and although it has always been the same game, it has always been a bit different. First there was a foundation that offered decent potential, but it was not exactly what the fans were waiting for. Then we got the previous consoles, and in the same year, the reaper of Souls, which showed off in the best form, came to the end and we finally got the Ultimate Evil edition for the current generation of consoles.
Well, now we are overtaking our record and we are making a fourth review of the same game (GTA V had only 3) when we got Diablo III: Eternal Collection on Switch. The title was so big that Nintendo had even renounced its exclusivity on the way, and bigger third party multiplatforms also preferred earlier. A title that you might think you know perfectly well, but it still keeps you surprised at the still relatively young console where even so many years after the original release it takes a second breath.
Evaluating this edition is very interesting even though you know the original game. I myself have gone through it several times in different versions on different platforms. A Switch version to this colorful color fit really interesting. On the one hand, there are definite technological limits that draw us a little bit past, as we're going back to the era of PS3 and Xbox 360 for example, in resolutions and some other aspects. On the other hand, this will be the best version for many, and what it brings with it. Switching to Diablo 3 means not only new possibilities, but also new necessities. However, you can not expect from the console that is ideal for traveling to join the Battle.net game.
Diablo III: The Eternal Collection for Switch is probably the only truly offline version of the game where you have almost all the content of the game available, whether you're online. Of course, you do not play online components without connecting, but it does not change that you can pull the switch from the bag at any time at the airport, for example, and take it to the master of darkness. You always have your characters, you can play quietly at home at home and on the go. After Dark Souls Remasters, this is another great title, which is surprisingly good for this format, and it works for a while, you play for a few minutes, the console succeeds, and later it just wakes up and continues on.
Diablo 3 came out on the 2.6.0 version of the Switch and is currently in the version labeled 2.6.2, which means you get a complete package with the latest changes and a huge portion of content that includes not only a basic game but the already mentioned expansion of Reaper of Souls and there is also the Rise of the Necromancer. Along with all of this, there are also corresponding articles, modifications and new content in the form of several new monsters, sites and even Challenge rifles. Right from the very beginning, this is all you have at your disposal, so you can plunge into the story, the season, the Hardcore Story, the Hardcore Season. The adventure mode available right from the beginning can be an attraction especially for those who have already gone through the game and now just want to win rewards and take the game with them anywhere.
Well, since Blizzard worked not only with Iron Galaxy, but also with Nintendo, he did not have any of the exclusive content and possibilities. The main thing is the already mentioned option to play in handheld mode. If you're planning to play with a single console, you'll be able to play only one Joy-Con driver. If you've ever played Diablo 3, you probably know it needs more controls so you have to prepare for a simplified control scheme. It's not that comfortable, so you're getting ready for precision, but you'll get the opportunity to do this, for example, by turning the knob. For fast local co-operation, both in peace and in the square, it works very well. Unfortunately, there is no touch control that would fit in a handheld mode for one player, for example, in the inventory.
With the Switch, there is also the possibility of local wireless gaming, so you can easily interconnect several Switch consoles and play together. Then there are cosmetics and small items that do not involve game owners on other platforms, as they do not really bring any such exclusive content. You can find a portrait, pet, and armor parts that make your character look like Ganondorf (this is a transmog of your Ganondorf-like armor). Well, and finally there's support, where the game will get a few of its own amiibo, the first will be goblin loot. But now it supports regular amybo figures and after they have been added to you through a portal of a special dimension of spawne enemies from which you get some booty. However, you can not spy this way and you have to wait for a day after use. The only reproach against these options is the fact that the game does not know how to explain where and how you can use it, which is a shame.
But you did not play Diablo 3 before, and you do not really know what I wrote so far? In this case, you decide to enjoy what it takes to be in the form of what you get with this edition, it is an action RPG in a really strong form. Balls with an emphasis on action rather than some detailed and intricate RPG building builds, but in still honest 3D processing that, moreover, reminds of its isometric predecessors. So, you look at the world and your character, but you still have a very good overview of what is happening around you, and you can also enjoy a bloody action that is certainly not a necessity in the game.
It all starts with the creation of your character (one of many, since you can create your own for the season and Hardcore), which you choose from five different classes and you can also determine your gender. Classes do not deviate from their fantasy RPG archetypes in both the outlook and the predestined abilities. There's a well-known Barbar who puts on physical strength. Witch Doctor is a new class that fights monsters and uses magic. The Wizard is a traditional magician whose spell uses elements and fits a longer distance battle. Monk is a warrior near rapid attacks. Bombs, bows, and arrows are the domain of Demon Hunter. Crusader arrived in the Reaper of Souls expansion and is a powerful knight with a shield, strong weapons and the ability to ride a horse. Well, and finally, there's a classic Necromancer who calls out the helpers from the ranks of the dead, and his bloody magic is a pleasure to watch.
Due to their character, these characters have given them certain capabilities and statistics from the beginning, but Diablo 3 has its own RPG component too, so you can level and improve your character. You are gradually releasing new active and also passive skills that you add to slots at certain levels. You can have a total of 6 active players at a time, and you can choose from several slots in each slot and all of them can be improved by runes that sometimes improve but sometimes alternate the effects and dramatically change the gameplay of some of the features. Then there are still passive abilities of your character, which you can finally have up to 4 (level 70) and the selection is really great.
It is indeed true that the huge variability of various functional builds is no longer so strong in Diablo 3, but the combination of character and skill offers a varied gaming experience that lets you choose the style you like in the game. It may be more experimental, but it does not change the fact that Diablo 3 is incredibly addictive, and the higher the difficulty you have chosen and the better your partners in co-operation, the harder it gets from the game. You just can not stop. You say that one more checkpoint and the fact you go to sleep, but suddenly you are screaming out, you are scraping a few mazes, defeating the boss in that chapter and you still do not have enough because the game simply enjoys you.
It is not even short. Diablo 3 contains four chapters on the basis of introducing you to your inconspicuous hero, who has to become a world savior at the end. You will go through a fight with various monsters and demons until you are dealing with the Lord of the Darkness himself. Diablo is back and you have to send him again where he belongs. Several parts of this exciting world are waiting for you to look even into the heavens and become a part of the alliance between people and angels. The story is not at all bad at all. He is very nicely despised, he is accompanied by great animations and he did not disappoint even in the dubbing of characters Blizzard, so there is nothing to say in the production values of the game. Reaper expansion brought with you another chapter that follows the end of the basic game and against you there is the Angel of Death and again you will also enjoy this storyline chapter. It is only a shame that we have not yet had another story in the process of finishing it.
And you can repeat all of this all the time, level up the characters and enjoy the replayability, which in the case of the game does not go wrong and it is on several levels. These levels of harassment are really enough here, so if you go through the game, you can go back to it, or with other people in co-operation. And it will make sense, because many things are random. Whether they are levels, mazes, or booty you get. No two passes will be the same, you will not go exactly the same level and you will not have the same equipment. And there is an Adventure mode where you can navigate gaming sites just like you want and collect rewards.
As far as the equipment and the equipment in the game is concerned, it all falls accidentally and every thing has some basic but it can also have special statistics that further contribute to the more specialized specialization of your character. Things you can also buy, whether to make or edit if you get a gemstone item to further adjust your stats. This is what NPC characters serve in cities. Other NPC characters can be invoked in your moments to help you fight. In this world, it's not just about life, you can find here figures to help you.
Inventory, capabilities, and other things you can do here through circular menus that work very well and intuitively visually, but I'm not sure whether I'm used to it and I think it's intuitive. This was not my first console version of the game. I'm not saying that this is an obstacle or problem, but if they tried to make the interface more adaptable to the console control and, in addition, to watch on a smaller display, surely the players would not protest.
Technologically, the Eternal Collection on Switches is somewhere among the last two console generations, and it seems to be a port of the current one, which is cut in several ways. First of all, it is a distinction that is dynamic in the game in both modes, with the maximum in the handhelde reaching 720p, in the 960p TV mode. the more challenging the scene, the lower it is, but basically the picture is not worse than the previous generation of consoles. The same applies to textures, shadows and the quality of effects that are also somewhere in between. The problem is a bit handheld version, as in really dark locations the details are a bit short on a small display, but again there is no big obstacle.
A small miracle is a snapshot in the game that's been holding at 60 fps for the whole time, which is a really nice surprise, and even though Blizzard was praising it before the release, honestly it was a bit hard to believe. Moreover, because the game looks better than the X360 and PS3 versions. This speed is almost constant. I can not say that the game would not be a little lower. This of course falls, but it really does take a bit of a try. You need to achieve this in order to do it and depend on the number of enemies and, for example, elemental effects. Even with more challenging riffs and regular play, the game is still smooth.
It is also a surprise that Blizzard has been honest with the digital and retail version of the game. The game has 13.2GB, both in the digital version and in retail form. And unlike some other publishers, Blizzard's game has been stacked all over one cartridge, so you do not need to download anything else. You only insert and play the game. So, assuming you do not want another language. The basics are only English, the other packages are available for download from the Nintendo eShop and the game reminds you when you start this option.
I know that for many Diablo III: Eternal Colection will be the best possible version. Not technically, it is overcome by some others, but in other respects there are arguments that are hard to resist. It's a fair offline version, and you do not need to join for the game. If you want, just plug your save somewhere in the cloud. It's a perfectly portable version with no handy handheld mode. It is a perfect "party" version for fast local cooperation, quietly even in virtually anywhere. In addition, it does not miss the possibility of online gaming, the whole package of content and a variety of entertainment. The deficiencies are here, but that's not something that should dissuade you from playing.
