Like some other artists, I prefer to do an onsite sketching rather than take photos of the things I see. For me, I find it more satisfying as I really want to sketch (and even paint) things as how I see it as of the moment, and not as what it really is. Am I speaking as a fan of impressionism? Perhaps yes!
Few days from now, I will share to you the skethes I that I will be making base on what I see in my surroundings. I hope you would look forward to it.
My Favorite Kipling Bag
My bag organizer
The bag organizer comes in two parts, the first one is the bigger one which allows me to put my notebook, color pencil cases, and a lot more. The smaller one is wherein I could put photocards, small pieces of paper, and other small stationeries.
I also have with me my 2020 Starbucks planner, though I detached the notebook from the binder and opted to put pieces of vellum board papers, fine linen papers, and watercolor papers. I am more interested in carrying small papers rather than bring bulky sketchbooks.
Becase I have poor eyesight, I must never forget to bring my own eyeglasses. Just this year, my eyesight has reached to 450 in both eyes hence I am always having a hard time. A goot set of eyeglasses would also help me from falling down the stairs, accidently hitting someone while walking along the road, or being hit by a vehicle.
OTG for Type B! Because I love to download videos and photos, my storage might be full in any minutes, I decided it is always helpful that I bring my 32GB OTG/flash. Who knows I might be able to meet someone along the road and I need some files fromt tha person or vice versa, at least I could get it transfered using my OTG.
Spare phone not because I have a side-chic, but because in case of emergency such as a Zombie Apocalypse, I have a spare phone to use. Although, I forgot to include another sim card/another number just in case.
The photocards? I just brought it with me because I will be giving it to my cousin. We both love KPOP but I am not big fan of collecting photocards. I prefer albums/ photobooks.
And oh! I would not forget my charger! Most of the people around me are already using Type C chargers because they have upgraded their phones, so yeah! At all cost, I must bring my own charger or else I would not be able to be updated. Most of the time, we spend dinner in our Aunt's house and I might not get the notice if I leave my phone's battery dying.
Watercolor Pencils or water soluble pens (and a sharpener) as how others call it. I find it important at times when I would just forget to bring my watercolors and I want to create an initial image or sketch of something I want to make.
Who knows whenever a pair of scissors would be of help right? Well aside from that, I find this an essential item in my bag because whenever I need to cut my papers into smaller pieces, I would not be asking help from anyone else.
And a bottle of alcohol is so much of help especially when we are in the middle of the pandemic. I really do not like touching surfaces, but there might be a time that I cannot avoid touching surfaces.
How about you? What are the things in your bag?
Lots of love,
Johanna Gail
