We started the vacation full of energy which is likely to diminish gradually toward the end, since this is a vacation of visiting and exploring.
So the first day was a veritable tour of force.
We started where from then from the ancient Acropolis citadel (or in translation the city from above, or the higher city). Here's why the name:
Because the city of Athens then and now lies at bottom of the Acropolis (the picture is taken from the very top of Acropolis). The same kind of magnificent view is on all sides.
Within the walls of Acropolis we obviously saw the Parthenon.
Moving down from the top we visited the ancient Odeon theater on the southwestern slope of Acropolis.
There is much more to tell from today's 'adventure'. But I'm too tired now to continue and I really need a shower. To be continued...
