Greetings to all the members of the community, how are you? Having the possibility of being in contact with nature near our home is something that every day becomes less of a priority, but that can impact the energy around us in a significant way by providing us with a space to breathe fresh air. It is one of my greatest joys to find myself in my garden because it gives me a unique serenity, knowing that these plants are giving life to the home, those fruits that some of them give us meaning the result of a commitment towards their care and attention, helping the family in difficult times. These are some of the reasons why I wanted to share it with you, although in the next few days there is a possibility that some of the plants will have to say goodbye, but before that, at least I would be showing these precious members of the family that have given us so much joy watching them grow and progress.

This loquat tree has been one of those that have been planted in our garden for years, and so far has given us countless fruits of which we have enjoyed, I particularly like to eat it as ice cream. Right now it is loaded with fruit in a way I have never seen before, every time I look at it it seems to have more, there is no place where you don't find at least a few loquats hanging from the branches waiting to ripen, because yes, they are still not ripe enough to harvest, something that is a shame because it means I have to wait to enjoy those delicious ice creams. For safety's sake, the ideal would be to prune the tree because this one is a short distance from our house, so much so that look how close it looks from the kitchen window, isn't this beauty big? I have told my parents that I love to see it like this, but we must avoid the damage that could be caused, be aware.

In recent days what we have been able to collect has been the yucca from some of the plants that were ready, needless to say that it is a family favorite at this time for their contribution in the lunches, plus the quality of it in general has been found outstanding since it came out soft and creamy, although I am not eating a lot of yucca I have been eating, we must always be grateful for the fruits that our plants give us, not to mention that consuming something that has been planted and grown in your land generates a very pleasant feeling, I do not know if I explain. I was surprised by the amount of yucca that came out, there were three yucca plants and approximately five (5) kilos of yucca that were distributed among several family members and neighbors. I was also surprised by their size because I never expected that some of the yuccas would be so big, but the truth is that I am not going to complain, this yucca had nothing to envy to the one we bought in markets.

Have you ever heard of a lemon plant that is not a lemon and a tangerine plant that is not a tangerine? It seems like a riddle, but no, this is a plant that is supposedly a mix between a lemon and a tangerine. The intention was to grow the native lemon plant because in this difficult land where the house is located it grows excellently, but in the end, it didn't work out as intended and we ended up with this one instead. As you can see it is loaded with fruits that are not ripe to pick either, we would have to wait a while to see if they are ready, maybe a few months, but the experience we have had so far is that the fruits do not give much juice regardless of the frequency of watering and the nutrients with which the soil where it is planted is helped, as we tried to add some compost. We will wait to see how these fruits turn out with the hope that they turn out better than the past ones, it would be nice to enjoy a delicious lemonade to go with the yucca during some lunch.

Among the plants that bear fruit there is also the coffee plant, very appreciated by me for its potential, but feared by my parents because they say it attracts snakes, so, this love story may end in an early farewell whenever we can not afford to have a plant of these characteristics near the house when we are in an area where rattlesnakes appear, I do not know about you, but the idea does not call me much attention, even though I have already become fond of the plant seeing that it has three small fruits growing on its branches. Then we have some pumpkin plants that are growing, we know that they do grow in this land because we have collected pumpkins on several occasions and they were very rich, the creams were especially magnificent, so I hope they come out the same this next time. Sometimes it is difficult considering that there is a lot of water rationing and it is difficult to water the plants, but so far they have all been very brave in that sense, worthy Venezuelan plants.

Now, what about flowers, I love flowers! These have varied over time and right now there are not as many as I would like but I know that soon we will have the possibility of getting my favorites, among which are the orchids. The only ones that I do know well of those that have been planted in the garden are the Cala flowers, because my maternal grandmother has always told me that they are her favorite flowers, although they seem a little strange to me, we have two colors planted, red and white... I do not know if they exist in other colors. There is one that I like very much for its purple color but I didn't know its name, I had to look it up where I always do, Google, discovering that it is called Oxalis Triangularis, probably because its leaves are of a triangular shape, I say. At the front of the house we already have a leafy Cayenne plant that has flowered, but we also have small ones that have been planted in pots to grow.

Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Tener la posibilidad de encontrarnos en contacto con la naturaleza cerca de nuestra casa es algo que cada día se convierte menos en una prioridad, pero que puede impactar en la energía a nuestro alrededor de manera significativa al proporcionarnos un espacio donde respirar aire fresco. Es una de mis mayores alegrías encontrarme en mi jardín porque me regala una serenidad única, sabiendo que estas plantas están dándole vida al hogar, esos frutos que algunas de ellas nos dan significando el resultado de un compromiso hacia su cuidado y atención, ayudando a la familia en tiempos difíciles. Estas son algunas de las razones por las cuales quise compartirlo con ustedes, aunque en los próximos días existe la posibilidad de que algunas de las plantas tengan que decir adiós, pero antes de ello, al menos estaría mostrando a estos miembros preciados de la familia que nos han regalado mucha alegría viéndolas crecer y progresar.

Este árbol de níspero ha sido uno de los que han estado desde hace años plantado en nuestro jardín, y hasta los momentos nos ha regalado infinidad de frutos de los cuales hemos disfrutado, a mí en particular me gusta comerlo como helado. En estos momentos está cargado con la fruta de una manera que nunca había visto, cada vez que lo miro parece tener más, no hay lugar por donde no encuentres al menos unos nísperos colgando de las ramas esperando su maduración, porque sí, todavía no están lo suficientemente maduros como para recolectar, algo que es una lástima porque significa que debo esperar para poder disfrutar de esos deliciosos helados. Por seguridad, lo ideal sería podar el árbol porque este se encuentra a una distancia corta de nuestra casa, tanto que miren lo cerca que se ve desde la ventana de la cocina, ¿verdad que está grande esta hermosura? Le he dicho a mis padres que me encanta verla así, pero hay que evitar los daños que podrían ocasionarse, ser conscientes.

En estos últimos días lo que sí hemos podido recoger ha sido la yuca de algunas de las plantas que estaban listas, demás está decir que es una favorita de la familia en estos momentos por su contribución en los almuerzos, además de que la calidad de la misma en general se ha encontrado sobresaliente puesto que salió blanda y cremosa, yo aunque no soy de comer mucha yuca he estado comiendo, siempre hay que agradecer los frutos que nos regalan nuestras plantas, sin mencionar que consumir algo que ha sido plantado y cultivado en tu tierra genera una sensación muy agradable, no sé si me explico. Me sorprendió la cantidad de yuca que salió, fueron tres plantas de yuca y salieron aproximadamente unos cinco (5) kilos de yuca que se distribuyeron entre varios familiares y unos vecinos. De igual forma me sorprendieron sus tamaños porque jamás me esperé que algunas de las yucas fuesen tan grandes, pero la verdad es que no me voy a quejar, esta yuca no tuvo nada que envidiarle a aquella que compramos en mercados.

¿Han escuchado de una planta de limón que no es limón y de mandarina que no es mandarina? Parece un acertijo, pero no, esta es una planta que pues supuestamente es una mezcla entre limón criollo y mandarina. La intención era cultivar la planta de limón criollo porque en esta tierra difícil donde se encuentra ubicada la casa se da excelente, pero al final, no resultó en lo que se pretendía y terminamos con esta en su lugar. Como pueden ver se encuentra cargada con frutos que tampoco se encuentran maduros para recoger, habría que esperar un tiempo para ver si están listos, quizás unos meses, pero la experiencia que hemos tenido hasta ahora es que los frutos no dan mucho jugo sin importar la frecuencia de riego y los nutrientes con los que se ayuden a la tierra donde se encuentra plantada, ya que intentamos agregarle algo de abono. Esperaremos a ver cómo resultan estos frutos con la esperanza de que resulten mejores que los pasados, sería bueno disfrutar de una deliciosa limonada para acompañar a la yuca durante algún almuerzo.

Dentro de las plantas que dan frutos también están la de café, muy apreciada por mí por su potencial, pero temida por mis padres porque según dicen, atrae culebras, por lo cual, esta historia de amor puede terminar en una pronta despedida siempre que no podemos darnos el lujo de tener una planta de estas características cerca de la casa cuando nos encontramos en una zona donde aparecen serpientes de cascabel, no sé ustedes, pero a mí la idea tampoco me llama mucho la atención, por mucho que ya me haya encariñado con la planta viendo que tiene tres pequeños frutos creciendo en sus ramas. Después tenemos algunas plantas de auyama que están creciendo, sabemos que sí se dan en esta tierra pues hemos recogido auyama en varias oportunidades y estaban muy ricas, las cremas quedaron especialmente magníficas, por lo que espero que salgan igual en esta próxima oportunidad. A veces es difícil teniendo en consideración que hay mucho racionamiento de agua y se hace difícil regar las plantas, pero hasta ahora todas han sido muy guerreras en ese sentido, dignas plantas venezolanas.

Ahora, ¿qué hay de las flores? ¡Me encantan las flores! Estas han variado con el paso del tiempo y ahora mismo no hay tantas como me gustaría pero sé que próximamente tendremos la posibilidad de ir consiguiendo mis preferidas, dentro de las cuales se encuentran las orquídeas. Las únicas que sí conozco bien de las que han sido plantadas en el jardín son las flores de Cala, porque mi abuela materna siempre me ha comentado que son sus flores favoritas, aunque me parecen un poco raras tenemos de dos colores plantadas, rojas y blancas… no sé si existirán de otros colores. Hay una que me gusta mucho por su color morado pero no sabía su nombre, tuve que buscarla donde siempre, Google, descubriendo que se llama Oxalis Triangularis, probablemente porque sus hojas son de una forma triangular, digo yo. En la parte delantera de la casa tenemos ya una planta frondosa de Cayena que ha floreado, pero también tenemos pequeñas que han sido plantadas en macetas para que vayan creciendo.
