The other day I told you that I was visiting Leonor Bernabó Park, hiking with a colleague. We visited several parts of the park but we didn't get to enter the recreation areas as such, the river and all.

Well, this Carnival Monday there was no work, so I suggested to a neighbor to go to the river, because I was looking forward to going that day. So we all got organized and went up again, only this time in a van and with a lot of friends...

El otro día les conté que estuve de visita en el Parque Leonor Bernabó, haciendo senderismo con una compañera. Visitamos varias partes del parque pero no llegamos a entrar a las áreas de esparcimiento como tal, el río y todo eso.

Pues bien, este lunes de carnaval no había trabajo, así que le sugerí a una vecina ir al río, porque me quedé con las ganas de ir ese día. Así que entre todos nos organizamos y subimos otra vez, solo que en esta ocasión en camioneta y con un montón de amigos...
I remember that when I went on foot along the trail, it took me a long time to get to the top of the river, but in the van everything was different. Besides the fact that we were talking and singing, we went on a paved road and arrived in less than 30 minutes to the upper part of the river, including the time it took to pick up everyone else who would accompany us, we went to several houses.
Well, at the top of the park we came to a children's area, where the little ones who were with us stopped to play on the rides.
Recuerdo que cuando fui a pie por el sendero, tardé un montón en llegar a la parte de arriba, pero en camioneta todo fue distintos. Además de que íbamos conversando y cantando, fuimos por una vía asfaltada y llegamos en menos de 30 min a la parte de arriba del río, incluyendo el tiempo que tardamos recogiendo a todos los demás que nos acompañarian, fuimos a varias casas.
Bien, ya arriba del parque llegamos a un área para los niños, donde los pequeños que iban con nosotros se detuvieron a jugar en las atracciones.
We arrived early, so there were not many people. One of the workers of the place told us that on Sunday there were a lot of people, but a lot of people. So it was likely that today, Monday, they would not have many visitors.
Llegamos temprano, así que no había mucha gente. Uno de los trabajadores del lugar nos dijo que mas bien el domingo habían ido un montón de gente, pero muchos. Así que era probable que hoy lunes no tuvieran muchas visitas.
As you know, I love to photograph nature, so I wandered into one of the green areas to take some pictures while the others unloaded the stuff from the walker.
I took pictures of this small entrance made of rocks and plants:
Como saben, me encanta fotografiar la naturaleza, así que me adentré a una de las áreas verdes para tomar algunas fotografías mientras los demás descargaban las cosas de la caminoneta.

I took pictures of a group of trees that grew together with a rather curious shape. And also to an edge from where you could see the river, but it was forbidden to get close to avoid falling. I imagine that more than one fell off the cliff for getting too close.
Tomé fotos a un grupo de árboles que crecieron juntos con una forma bastante curiosa. Y también a un borde desde donde se veía el río, pero estaba prohibido acercarse para evitar caídas. Imagino que más de uno se habrá caído por el precipicio por acercarse demasiado.
In the end they unloaded everything next to a small well, supplied with water by the same river. It only had some stone and concrete walls, and there was also shade from the trees to be there very quiet.
Al final descargaron todo al lado de un pequeño pozo, surtido de agua por el mismo río. Solo que tenía unos muros de piedra y concreto, también había sombra de los árboles para estar ahí muy tranquilos.
And you may say "Gabo, why are you taking pictures of the water from such a short distance?" (considering I recently lost my phone by accidentally submerging it on the beach). And yes, I don't learn, but the photos look great....
Y ustedes dirán "Gabo, ¿por qué le estas tomando fotos al agua desde tan corta distancia?" (considerando que hace poco perdí mi teléfono por sumergirlo, accidentalmente, en la playa). Y sí, es que no aprendo, pero quedaron geniales las fotos...
Afterwards, the group started to walk a little further up towards the river. I took the opportunity to take more pictures of small waterfalls along the way.
In every corner I stopped to take pictures and that's why they left me behind, because everyone was impatient to go to the river and I was the only one who was there, crouched down in the middle of the forest looking for the best photos...
Ya después, los del grupo comenzamos a caminar un poco más arriba, hacia el río. Aproveché de tomar más fotos de pequeñas cascadas que había por el camino.
En cada rincón paraba a tomar fotos y por eso me dejaron atrás, porque todos estaban impacientes por ir al río y yo era el único que estaba ahí, agachado en pleno bosque buscando las mejores fotos...
There was even a part where I got a great view of the river, but evidently I couldn't go down that way so I had to run back with the group to catch up.
But, for your enjoyment, I leave you with these couple of pictures of a high part of the river.
Incluso hubo una parte donde logré una vista del río genial, pero evidentemente no podía bajar por allí así que tuve que volver con el grupo corriendo para poder alcanzarlos.
Pero, para su disfrute, les dejo este par de fotos de una parte alta del río.
Finally I caught up with them but they were in pain mode because they know that sometimes I upload these photos to hive and none of them wanted to go out because according to them, people from Japan see them here....
Finalmente los alcancé pero andaban en modo penoso porque saben que a veces subo estas fotos a hive y ninguno quería salir porque según ellos, aquí los ven gente hasta de japón...
Afterwards, people started to arrive but we took over the highest part, at the edge of the first waterfall where there is a great deep well, similar to a swimming pool, but with river water.
Ya después comenzó a llegar la gente pero nosotros nos adueñamos de la parte mas alta, al borde de la primera cascada donde se hace un pozo hondo genial, parecido a una piscina, pero con agua de río.
Then we had to go and get the things we had left behind and bring them to this part, so that they would not be left there alone.
That was a good place, but this was better, so we all brought chairs, bags, the cabin with ice and soft drinks, plus all the food we had brought.
Después tuvimos que ir a buscar las cosas que habíamos dejado atrás y traerlas hasta esta parte, para que no quedaran solas ahí.
Aquel era un buen lugar, pero este era mejor, así que entre todos nos trajimos sillas, bolsos, la cava con hielo y los refrescos, además de toda la comida que habíamos traído.
To enjoy the day without worries, I put my phone away and disconnected from everything. I bathed, shared with people, with some visitors, enjoyed the view and relaxed, that's why I went to that river....
I remember that we ate hot dogs, only they were not hot at all, because we did not bring anything to heat. Just the bread, sausage, chips and salsa, that was lunch, accompanied by soft drinks, lots of soft drinks.
By about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, it was getting quite sunny and we had enjoyed the river quite a bit. We were all burned, bruised from falling on the slippery rocks and smiling for having had so much fun.
I took the opportunity to take a picture of the scenery from the view I had and I share it with you below:
Ya para disfrutar del día sin preocupaciones, guardé el teléfono y me desconecté de todo. Me bañé, compartí con la gente, con algunos visitantes, disfruté de la vista y me relajé, que para eso fui a ese río...
Recuerdo que comimos perros calientes, solo que no estaban del todo calientes, porque no llevamos nada para calentar. Solo el pan, la salchicha, papitas y salsa, ese fue el almuerzo, acompañado de refrescos, muchos refrescos.
Cerca de las 4 de la tarde, ya estaba haciendo bastante sol y habíamos disfrutado bastante del río. Todos estábamos quemados, golpeados de tanto caernos por las rocas resbalosas y sonrientes por habernos divertido tanto.

I'm not going to lie to you, these outings are necessary from time to time, mostly to distract us from so much evil, so many problems and so many negative things. May all that be washed away by the river and may the good things continue.
No les voy a mentir, estas salidas de vez en cuando hacen falta, más que todo para distraernos de tanto mal, de tanto problema y de tanta cosa negativa. Que todo eso se lo lleve el río y que siga lo bueno.
