Greetings friends. If you have visited my blog, you may be aware that I have been making collections of Dragon Ball and Pokémon figurines, plus a much larger collection of the Power Rangers Megazord.
Well, for the smaller figurines, like the Pokémon and Dragon Ball ones, I was thinking about how to make some display stands so that they can be placed as ornaments on a shelf.
Join me in the step by step of this homemade display.

Saludos amigos. Si han visitado mi blog, quizás estén enterados que he estado haciendo colecciones de figuritas de Dragón Ball y de Pokémon, además de una colección mucho más grande del Megazord de los Power Rangers.
Pues bien, para las figuritas más pequeñas, como las de Pokémon y Dragón Ball estuve pensando como hacer unas exhibidoras para que estos se puedan colocar cuál adorno en una estantería.
Acompáñenme en el paso a paso de esta exhibidora casera.
Well, the first thing I will tell you about is the material I used.
Although this display stand is small, I can't make it with a thin paper, so for this craft we will use a white cardboard that is thick and big, I used an A3 size one.
For this first step I folded the A3 cardboard in half, obtaining two A4 size ones. You can omit this step if you have two pieces of cardboard of the last mentioned size.
Paso a paso
Bien, lo primero de lo que les hablaré es sobre el material que utilicé.
Aunque esta exhibidora es pequeña, no puedo hacerla con un papel delgado, así que para esta manualidad usaremos una cartulina blanca que sea gruesa y grande, yo usé una de tamaño A3.
Para este primer paso doblé la cartulina A3 a la mitad, obteniendo dos de tamaño A4. Pueden omitir este paso si tienen dos cartulinas del último tamaño mencionado.
The idea is to make with this cardboard a series of steps, like steps.
To make them, I placed the A4 cardboard horizontally and folded it in half, from right to left.
La idea es hacer con esta cartulina una serie de escalones, como gradas.
Para hacerlas, coloqué la cartulina A4 de manera horizontal ya doblé a la mitad, de derecha a izquierda.
Then I folded each half vertically again, until I had eight pillars on the sheet, four on the right and four on the left with respect to the center.
It should look like the image below.
Luego cada mitad la doblé de manera vertical otra vez, hasta lograr tener ocho pilares en la hoja, cuatro a la derecha y cuatro a la izquierda con respecto al centro.
Debería quedarles tal cómo se observa en la imagen de abajo.
As I said, this display is kind of like a ladder, so making it the full size of the sheet would be making too big a ladder.
For this reason you have to cut the sheet at the vertical line in the center, so it will be a two-step ladder to place enough figurines on one of these.
For the example in this publication I used only one half, but you can make up to four two-step displays with A3 size cardboard.
Como dije, esta exhibidora es como una especie de escalera, así que hacerla del tamaño completo de la hoja sería hacer una escalera demasiado grande.
Por este motivo hay que cortar la hoja en la línea vertical del centro, así quedará una escalera de dos escalones para colocar suficientes figuritas en una de estas.
Para el ejemplo de esta publicación usé solo una mitad, pero en toda con una cartulina de tamaño A3 pueden hacer hasta cuatro exhibidoras de dos escalones.
Well, cardboard is a sturdy material but it is not quite rigid enough to serve as a display, so I cut several pieces of cardboard and glued them to the bottom of the ladder to give it more support. I used glue, as it works best for paper-based materials.
Pues bien, la cartulina es un material resistente pero no es del todo rígido para servir como exhibidora, por lo tanto corté numerosos trozos de cartón y los pegué en la parte de abajo de la escalera, para darle mayor soporte. Usé pegamento, ya que este sirve mejor para materiales derivados del papel.
After that I cut four cardboard squares and glued them into this “L” shape, as you can see in the image below.
Después de esto corté cuatro cuadros de cartón y los pegué en esta forma de "L", tal cómo lo pueden ver en la imagen de abajo.
This piece, once dry, will serve as a support for the display. It will allow you to keep that step shape I mentioned before. As I said it only has two steps.
Esta pieza una vez seca, servirá de soporte para la exhibidora. Le permitirá mantener esa forma de escalones que les mencioné antes. Tal cómo dije solo tiene dos escalones.
Once the glue was dry, this little display was finished.
As you can see it is not very big, so it will only serve to place some small figurines, just like the ones I make.

Una vez seco el pegamento, está pequeña exhibidora quedó terminada.
Como pueden ver no es del todo grande, así que solo servirá para colocar algunas figuritas de pequeño tamaño, tal cómo las que yo hago.

Here you can see how the display with the Dragon Ball characters I have made so far looks like.

However, what I will actually use these displays for is my Pokémon collection.
