Greetings to all, dear fellow weekenders. It's been a while since I've posted in the community, but the truth is that my weekends have become too boring and I didn't really feel that I had anything interesting to tell. At least in my opinion.
However, today I do have something that I think is worth sharing with you. You see, this weekend I went out to explore the rural areas here in my city; although the city is small, the truth is that it has some areas that are far enough away from the city to find some interesting and worth mentioning landscapes.
This is what my post will be about, a weekend in which I ventured through some of these areas.
Saludos a todos, estimados compa帽eros del fin de semana. Hace bastante tiempo que no pasaba a publicar en la comunidad, pero lo cierto es que mis fines de semana se han vueto demasiado aburridos y no sent铆a realmente que tuviese algo interesante que contar. Al menos en mi opini贸n.
Sin embargo, hoy s铆 tengo algo que pienso que vale la pensa compartir con ustedes. Veran, este fin de semana sal铆 a explorar las 谩reas rurales que hay aqu铆 en mi ciudad; aunque es peque帽a la urbe, lo cierto es que tiene algunas 谩reas que estan lo suficientemente alejadas de la ciudad como para encontrar algunos paisajes interesantes y dignos de mencionar.
De esto tratar谩 mi publicaci贸n, de un fin de semana en el que me aventur茅 por algunas de estas 谩reas.
My city is located in a valley, so it is surrounded by many high and mountainous areas; in fact, one of the most beautiful views of my city is the mountain to the north.
If one decides to walk a little and venture into these northern lands, it is very easy to find places where you can see the beginning of the mountain; places completely clear, without any trace of buildings, only trees and vegetation.
Such is the case of the photograph below, where you can see a high point, which is nothing more than the beginning of the mountain in the background:
Mi ciudad se encuentra en un valle, as铆 que est谩 rodeada de muchas zonas altas y monta帽osas; de hecho, una de las vistas m谩s hermosas de mi cuidad es la monta帽a que est谩 al norte.
Si uno decide caminar un poco y aventurarse por estos terrenos del norte, es muy f谩cil encontrarse con lugares en donde se puede ver el comienzo de la monta帽a; lugares completamente despejados, sin ning煤n rastro de edificaciones, solo 谩rboles y vegetaci贸n.
Tal es el caso de la fotograf铆a a continuaci贸n, donde se aprecia un elevado,que no es m谩s que el comienzo de la monta帽a que est谩 al fondo:
That's the view to the north, but when you turn around on these grounds, you just find more vegetation. But it's not low vegetation that's easy to walk through, no; it's thick, tall vegetation.
Luckily, there are clear paths that one can walk on, so there is no need to walk through green areas like the ones I show below:
Esa es la vista que hay al norte, pero cuando uno se da la vuelta en estos terrenos, simplemente se encuentra con m谩s vegetaci贸n. Pero no es vegetaci贸n baja y f谩cil de atravesar, no; es una vegetaci贸n espesa y alta.
Por suerte, hay caminos despejados por los que uno puede caminar, as铆 que no es necesario atravesar 谩reas verdes como las que muestro a continuaci贸n:
The tall trees are another treasure to be found in these areas. If one thinks about it, it is likely that these trees are many years older than the grandparents that still live in the city today. You could say that these trees are natural treasures that we do well to preserve.
Some of them are quite far from the city, like this one of immense size:
Los altos 谩rboles son otro tesoro que se pueden encontrar en estas 谩reas. Si uno lo piensa bien, es probable que estos 谩rboles tengan muchos m谩s a帽os que los abuelos que a煤n hoy viven en la ciudad. Se podr铆a decir que estos 谩rboles son tesoros naturales que hacemos bien en conservar.
Algunos se encuentran bastante alejados de la ciudad, como este de inmenso tama帽o:
Others, just as large, are located a little closer, surrounded by the cables that carry electricity to the central areas.
Otros, igual de grandes, se encuentran un poco m谩s cerca, rodeado de los cables que llevan electricidad a las 谩reas centrales.
Leaving aside the trees, these rural areas allow for adequate cattle raising, as there are ample pastures where cows can graze in complete tranquility. During my walk, I met a rancher who took his cattle to the side of the lonely road to graze.
With the owner's permission, I captured a few photos of a couple of these beautiful animals.
Dejando de lado a los 谩rboles, estas 谩reas rurales permiten una crianza adecuada de ganado, pues son amplios los prados que hay, en donde las vacas pueden pastar con total tranquilidad. Durante mi caminata, me encontr茅 con un ganadero que sac贸 a su ganado a un lado de la solitaria carretera, para que pastaran.
Con permiso de su due帽o, captur茅 unas cuantas fotos a un par de estos bellos animales.
Interestingly, he used the electric poles to tether the cows/bulls so that they would not wander too far away.
Resulta interesante que usara los postes el茅ctricos para amarrar a las vacas/toros para que no se alejasen demasiado.
In my opinion, meeting these animals was the highlight of this hike through these rural areas.
En mi opini贸n, encontrarme con estos animales fue lo mejor de esta caminata por estas 谩reas rurales.
But in addition to the animals, I also found an endless number of flowers of different colors. Some more beautiful than others, of course.
I was very struck by an area near the road, where I came across a long bed of very beautiful flowers, which grew there as if they were evil, while in the city people must resort to gardening stores to find them...
Pero adem谩s de los animales, tambi茅n me encontr茅 con un sin fin de flores de diversos colores. Algunas m谩s bonitas que otras claro esta.
Me llam贸 mucho la atenci贸n un 谩rea cercana a la carretera, en donde me top茅 con una larga cama de flores muy bonitas, que all铆 crecieron como si fuesen malesa, mientras que en la ciudad la gente debe recurrir a tiendas de jardiner铆a para encontrarlas...
I also came across thorny plants but with really beautiful flowers, with striking shapes and even more beautiful colors.
Tambi茅n me encontr茅 con plantas espinosas pero con flores realmente bellas, con formas llamativas y colores a煤n m谩s vistozos.
In spite of everything, the flowers did not fail to make their presence felt all the way back to the city. On the way back I came across some really beautiful flowers, such as this yellow flower that I found on the side of the road.
A pesar de todo, las flores no dejaron de hacer acto de presencia en todo el recorrido de vuelta a la ciudad. En el camino de regreso me top茅 con flores realmente hermosas, tal como esta flor amarilla que me encontr茅 a un lado de la calle.
There were many like these, but this, just at that moment, was the only flower that was open.
On the other hand, I also came across some apparently abandoned houses where the vegetation has grown more than usual, gaining ground in areas where before it would not have been allowed to grow...
Hab铆an muchas como estas, pero esta, justo en ese momento, era la 煤nica flor que estaba abierta.
Por otra parte, tambi茅n me encontr茅 con algunas casas aparentemente abandonadas en donde la vegetaci贸n ha crecido m谩s de lo habitual, ganando terreno en 谩reas donde antes no le habr铆an permitido crecer...
After a little more than three hours of travel, I finally reached a stop and waited for the bus to return home. I managed to distract my mind a little and enjoy these natural landscapes that do us so much good, to get away a little from the concrete panorama that we are usually surrounded by...

Tras poco m谩s de tres horas de recorrido, finalmente llegu茅 a una parada y esper茅 el bus para volver a casa. Logr茅 distraer un poco la mente y disfrutar de estos paisajes naturales que tanto bien nos hacen, para alejarnos un poco del panorama de concreto del que habitualmente estamos rodeados...
