Greetings to all of you. It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Gabo and I consider myself an apprentice photographer. I had not posted before in this community, so this will be the first publication that I will share with so many photography lovers.
I had previously made posts related to photography, about my practices, my learning and similar things, but in other communities. In fact, I recently made a post in which I shared my first attempts at urban photography and today I bring you a similar post, where I wanted to show you urban landscapes mixed with the green of nature. That's why I titled this post "Green & Gray". I hope you like it.

Anteriormente hab铆a hecho publicaciones relacionadas con la fotograf铆a, sobre mis pr谩cticas, mi aprendizaje y cosas similares, pero en otras comunidades. De hecho, hace poco hice una publicaci贸n en la que compart铆 mis primeros intentos de fotograf铆a urbana y hoy les traigo una publicaci贸n similar, donde quise mostrarles paisajes urbanos mezclados con lo verde de la naturaleza. Por eso titul茅 a esta publicaci贸n "Green & Gray". Espero que sea de su agrado.
To begin with, I would like to show you a couple of photographs. Both are photographs where you can see the gray of the concrete of a plaza, and the green of the grass of the green areas of this recreational area:
Para comenzar, deseo mostrarles un par de fotograf铆as. Ambas son fotograf铆as en donde se puede ver el gris del concreto de una plaza, y lo verde del cesped de las 谩reas verdes de esta 谩rea recreativa:
Curious as it may seem, this photograph is of the same place, only taken from different angles. In the first one, the green color predominates, as the grass occupies a larger place on the screen. On the other hand, in the second one, the concrete is in the foreground, with the green in the background...
An interesting contrast between the two sides of the urban landscape.
Por muy curioso que parezca, esta fotograf铆a es del mismo lugar, solo que tomada desde distintos 谩ngulos. En la primera el color verde predomina, pues el cesped ocupa mayor lugar en la pantalla. Por otra parte, en la segunda queda en primer plano el concreto, con el verde en el fondo...
Un interesante contraste entre las dos caras del paisaje urbano.
Another photograph that I managed to capture, keeping the same style as the previous ones, is the following one:

Although I captured other photographs in this style, I decided to show you this one because I like how the weeds have grown in the middle of a crack in the concrete, as if it were a sea made of vegetation.
Aunque captur茅 otras fotograf铆as con este estilo, decid铆 mostrarles esta porque me gusta como la maleza ha crecido en medio de una grieta en el concreto, como si fuese un mar hecho de vegetaci贸n.
One of the things that are always present on the streets of my city are the huge trees on the side of the sidewalks. These trees often grow so big that they end up cracking the sidewalk.
Una de las cosas que siempre estan presentes en las calles de mi ciudad son los enormes a un lado de las aceras. Estos 谩rboles, con frecuencia, crecen tanto que terminan agrietando la acera.
This is not always the case, as is the case in this series of photographs of trees on the side of the road. These trees attract attention for their curious and diverse textures and varied colors, which contrast with the gray, linear and monochromatic concrete areas.
No siempre sucede, como es el caso de esta serie de fotograf铆as de 谩rboles a un lado de la acerca. Estos 谩rboles llaman la atenci贸n por sus curiosas y diversas texturas y colores variados, que hacen contraste con lo gris, lineal y monocrom谩tico de las 谩reas de concreto.
These trees have been with us for years, so I thought it would be interesting to immortalize their beauty in these photographs.
Estos 谩rboles han estado durante a帽os entre nosotros, as铆 que me pareci贸 interesante inmortalizar su belleza en estas fotograf铆as.
They are natural ancestors who have grown up in this immense concrete jungle.
Son ancestros naturales que han crecido en esta inmensa selva de concreto.
As far as trees are concerned, they do not always manage to stay in good condition in urban areas. This is what I manage to capture in the photograph below:
En lo que respecta a los 谩rboles, no siempre logran mantenerse en buen estado en las 谩reas urbanas. Esto es lo que logro captar en la fotograf铆a a continuaci贸n:
This one shows how these trees can deteriorate when they are not properly cared for. This is a palm that has already died, but still maintains part of its structure.
It contrasts the characteristic relief of its trunk and the strange shapes at the top, where the long and characteristic leaves of this palm once were.
En esta se evidencia c贸mo se pueden deteriorar estos 谩rboles cuando no se les presta el cuidado adecuado. Esta es una palma que ya ha muerto, pero 谩un mantiene parte de su estructura.
Contrasta el caracter铆stico relieve de su tronco y las formas extra帽as que tiene en la cima, donde alguna vez estuvieron las largas y caracter铆sticas hojas de esta palma.
To conclude, I would like to show you a photograph in which you can see how nature always claims its place. No matter how much concrete there may be, how much iron there is around it, nature will always grow and take the place it should occupy.

Para finalizar, me gustar铆a mostrarles una fotograf铆a en la que se aprecia c贸mo la naturaleza siempre reclama su lugar. No importa cu谩nto concreto pueda haber, cuanto hierro exista a su alrededor, la naturaleza siempre crecer谩 y tomar谩 el lugar que debe ocupar.
Un peque帽o hidrante arropado por la maleza que ha crecido a su alrededo:
Although these are all the pictures I will show you, I would also like to show you some editing I did in Photoshop with the same pictures I already showed you.
In this first edit, I used a filter to highlight only the green, leaving everything else gray. The result is interesting to say the least:
Aunque estas son todas las fotograf铆as que les mostrar茅, tambi茅n me gustar铆a mostrarles un poco de edici贸n que hice en Photoshop con las mismas fotograf铆as que ya les mostr茅.
En esta primera edici贸n, us茅 un filtro para resaltar 煤nicamente el verde, dejando de un color gris todo lo dem谩s. El resultado es, cuando menos, interesante:
Another edit I made was with one of the trees. Since I took the picture this tree reminded me of a tree in a square where I used to play when I was a kid. I wanted to give it this effect, as if it was an old photograph:
Otra edici贸n que hice fue con uno de los 谩rboles. Desde que tom茅 la fotograf铆a este 谩rbol me hizo recordar un 谩rbol de una plaza en la que jugaba cuando era ni帽o. Quise darle este efecto, como si fuese una fotograf铆a antigua:
I also made a black and white edit, in this case with the dead coconut palm. It is a bit sad to see this kind of trees in this state, so I made an edit that had a relationship with what the photograph transmits to me:
Tambi茅n hice una edici贸n a blanco y negro, en este caso con la palma de coco muerta. Es un poco triste ver este tipo de 谩rboles en este estado, as铆 que hice una edici贸n que tuviese relaci贸n con lo que la fotograf铆a me trasmite a mi:
Finally, I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to create this edit on the hydrant photograph:
