Today I managed to capture one hundred and fifty one photographs of the solar eclipse from my vantage point, Syracuse New York.
I utilized a Moto G 5G 2022 smart-phone for the captures.
Out of the one hundred and fifty one photographs, these are my favorite picks.
I started out with baseline exposure settings, but quickly realized I could capture some better photographs if I lowered the exposure substantially.
I don't regret taking some photographs with high exposure because it made for some cool looking photographs regardless.
The impact of lowering the exposure was substantial. The colors seen are more in line with what the naked eye saw during the eclipse, and it became almost pitch black for a few minutes, eerily reminiscent of Stephen King's novel Pet Sematary in its motion picture format.
I find eclipses really cool and feel I was lucky to witness this rare occurrence while capturing some cool photographs.
