The same thing happens to me.
I could write a lot about it actually..
Most of the time the sentiment in my mind is that these things don't matter much anymore, but there's other people in my life associated to certain memories where those memories affect them in a real time sense, so vicariously it affects me because I cannot help them see that the past has less dictation on the present and future than most think.
