yes I think that bit has several meanings, especially because of the use of the word "craft".

I am haunted by memories. I just noticed this. When I walk by a certain flower, or see a certain thing on a menu, or hear or song or or or... I think of a this or that person and this or that event, like a non-stop reel of my life. Maybe going on vacation, or just being somewhere new, is relaxing because I don't have as many of those associations. I wish I could turn it off! And remember those things at will, instead of their coming to me unbidden.
