Hello Everyone,
Today is part 2 of what will be a 3 part germination post series.
Things were all fun and games yesterday, but now it's getting a little hot in the kitchen.
We're getting scientific with it!
All we did yesterday was put the seed in a little jar of water to soak overnight.
Today we're adding that seed to a paper towel inside of a (mostly) air tight container, but we want to ensure the water is just right for this germination.
Above is my first pH test. It's a bit high so I lowered it down with 8 drops of pH down to 1 gallon of water.
The difference in the color is noticeably more on the yellow side.
My estimation is about 6.8 pH. Anyone else's opinion differ?
6.5-7.0 is the range I'm shooting for.
I think I'm in this range :)
That's not scientific enough for futuremind :D
A capful of Hydrogen Peroxide added to the gallon will boost the likeliness of germination by helping the shell break down. If interested in reading more about how this works, here's an article from balconygardenweb dot com.
This will not affect the pH of the water.
Now it's time to move this seed over to the paper towel. Some choose to use tweezers and minimize touching the seed, but I don't feel this is necessary and just pull it out with my fingers.
First I soak the paper towel.
Placed in the center of the paper towel is the Crystal Candy cannabis seed. I'm going to fold this paper towel up and ensure the paper towel is close to full saturation.
This looks pretty good to me!
Now we will just put the lid on this container and check it everyday until the seed germinates, ensuring the paper towel stays decently damp when checking.
When this seed germinates, part 3 will be adding it to the soil!
That will do it for today.
What do you all think of this germination method?
I would love to read your thoughts in the comment section!
Thank you for stopping by,
Have a great day! -@futuremind
