Happy Walpurgis Night! Must say I totally forgot about it, I guess this used to be more of an event when I was younger and running around my my buddies.
Walpurgis Night, named after an abbess who lived just recently, sometime in the 8th century, used to fill the city with young people, partying and drinking, and we would be in the middle of it all. The original Saint Walpurga unknown by all - the saint of her time, battling diseases and lo and behold, even witchcraft. How she battled witchcraft, is unknown, but as I recall people used to burn and drown witches, so can anyone, who battled witchcraft, really be a saint? Unless you're a Van Helsing of course.
Now I'm older and realized that I can't drink at home too, so here I am, committing blasphemy and drinking Jack from a Jameson glass. I'm a Jameson man myself, but I will not say no to a good bourbon whiskey (the manufacturer of Jack Daniels prefers to it to be called just Tennessee Whiskey, not bourbon).
So here's to a nice Walpurgis Night y'all!
Great times!
