Over here in the tropics, we are blessed with so many unique-looking flowers and plants. Every time I go for a walk, I feel like there is always something new waiting for me. Some flowers look very familiar, while others make me stop and wonder how nature was able to create such interesting shapes.
Today, I want to share some of the photos that I took using only my phone. I know that having a proper camera or a macro lens would be amazing, especially for capturing tiny details, but I still feel grateful that my phone is able to do well enough. It allows me to document these little moments and appreciate the beauty that I see during my walk.
What I enjoy about these photos is the variety of forms. Some flowers look like fireworks bursting open. Some look like little bells hanging from thin branches. Some appear almost alien, with long tentacle-like parts reaching out from the center. There are also flower buds that remind me of tiny broccoli haha. Nature really has a playful way of showing beauty.
In black and white, these details become even more interesting to me. The colors are removed, but the shapes, textures, shadows, and highlights become stronger. It makes me pay more attention to the structure of each flower instead of only admiring its color.
I think life is also like this. When we slow down and look closer, we begin to notice that beauty is not always loud or obvious. Sometimes it is hidden in small shapes, strange patterns, and quiet moments.
