One of the reasons why I started the #iwantsteem tag is to remind myself and everyone on the real value of steem and not just the monetary equivalent of it. If we set a long term goal for our investment then our belief for steem should not be dependent on its current value. Our focus should be the social aspect of steem, forming the community around it, and strengthen the mutual trust among each other.
Most of us forget about the social aspect of this platform. I would rather think of this platform as a gathering of like-minded individuals forming a cohesive community.
Let's have a thought experiment, if in case the steem fails to value-up, I can guarantee that the accounts who came to steem because of the monetary incentive will be the first ones that will leave, after they post about their hate to the platform.
But the ones who joined the platform for the value that they get from sharing their knowledge & breaking boundaries by engaging in a meaningful discussion will be the ones who will stay until the last witness unplug the node that keeps this platform running.
