Hello everybody its crypto guru here and in today's article i'm going to talk about a etherium and what i think it might do in 2018 so etherium is a great coin but it's really not trying to accomplish the same things as bitcoin is bitcoin is more of the digital gold or you could argue that originally it was supposed to be this mass adopted currency while i don't think that bitcoin can fill that role now aetherium doesn't really try to fill that role aetherium has its smart
contracts and through those smart contracts it's used for a variety of different things but being a currency that average people use is not one of those things as far as I can tell or that I would say so this is mostly my opinion but it doesn't seem that they are really clashing more that they're filling different types of needs due to that I don't think that bitcoin really hurts aetherium nor the other way around I don't really think that if etherium was to ever get up and pass Bitcoin I don't think that it would kill Bitcoin i think bitcoin will always have a spacem that it needs to fill but I
don't think that aetherium is going to be held back by Bitcoin either so aetherium has gone up a lot this year in the early parts of this year it was less than $50 and I believe it was even down as far as ten dollars which at the time was actually a pretty big run-up so it's been an explosive coin it's coming up from basically nothing in just a matter of a year and now you can see it's at almost 700 so there are a lot of different reasons for this one of which is just the technology behind it it's decentralized like Bitcoin and other coins and it's just a better coin when it comes to certain aspects it's got the smart contracts and arguably that is its best selling point is that it
has smart contracts because of that again I think it puts itself in a different category than Bitcoin because it is trying to fill a different so what is a theory I'm going to do in 2018 well none of us know what I think it's gonna do is I think it's going to try for somewhere in between about 1,200 and 2,000 now that may be on the low side or it may be on the high side of the estimates that you may hear but that's what I think it's going to do I'm not sure if that will be in early 2018 or if that will come later in 2018 but unlike Bitcoin where it just all of a sudden has a bunch of explosive growth a etherium does have explosive growth but it's a much slower rate than
Bitcoin so because of that I think that it's going to take a little while and I don't think it's going to you know multiply itself times 10 or 20 times and get way up there to like five or 6,000 next year because I just don't think it's able to do that maybe it will maybe it won't but that's not where I think it's going to go I think it's going to multiply itself two or three times get somewhere in between 1,200 and 2,000 and that is where it will stay throughout some of 2018 if we look at the charts here you can see that etherium started off this year at about ten or eleven dollars and it's huge run up to $50 and after that it continued a few other small run ups
and ultimately got way up to almost $400 and from that it was down for quite some time a lot of people were wondering in this area right here of about two to four months you know was aetherium dead is it not going to reach what it was before but as you know the marketchanged again and it shot up twice so it had this first big run-up that guy it close to 500 and then it had another big run-up that got it to what it is today which is close to 700 so from that you can gather that it will probably do a lot of the same pattern again a lot of this chart here if you look at it is the same pattern repeating itself it'll be low get high and then I will go back down and then settle for a little bit and then the only real variable here is how long it settles so maybe after this they run up and a pullback maybe it will settle down for a little while and not continue to rise but I think eventually throughout some point in 2018 it will continue to rise and honestly I don't think it will stay here for too long I think it will try to continue a run up during the last little bit of 2017 and maybe early 2018 from there I think at that point it will probably settle down a little bit and then it will try to run up again the exact prices on these run ups I'm not exactly sure of obviously this is a lot of speculation but it's just what I see when I look at these charts I see it the same pattern over and over that you see with a lot of different crypto currencies with etherium in particular this one just seems to be the exact same thing over and over to me you have your run up your pullback and then you settle for some amount of time the only real
variable I'm seeing is that amount of time that you're settling before the next run up so obviously it can't continue going up forever but I really think this is a fairly healthy growth rate unlike a lot of people think with Bitcoin where it seems to just continually rise over and over I think that etherium has a much healthier growth rate and because of this I think it'sgoing to be easier to sustain the prices that it hits so we'll aetherium beat Bitcoin in 2018 I don't think it will beat it I think it will join it so this market cap you can see here aetherium is at 65 billion and then Bitcoin is at 300 billion so it's quite a ways off from joining it but I think that etherium will break 200 billion and market cap next year at some point that may be late 2018 but I do think at some
point it will break that and depending on what bitcoin is at at the time atheria might be joining us obviously Bitcoin could continue to rise at crazy rates and because of that Bitcoin might be on a whole another level at that time but I think eventually the trend we're gonna see is a theorem is going to join Bitcoin and I think there's going to be one other currency but I haven't quite been able to decide what currency is going to fill this role but Bitcoin is kind of the digital gold a etherium is kind of the business coin and then there has to be a coin that's an actual
currency one that the regular ordinary people use on a day-to-day basis at this point I'm not sure which coin that will be because there are a lot of technical factors that you have to take into consideration that I will discuss in another video if you all are interested but that is it for today's article guys be sure toupvote and follow and let me know what you want to see next down in the comments
