Today Hive dropped under four cents. I have predicted this, but still it is sad to see that. Bitcoin is in mid sixty thousand dollars and has been in this range for over seventy days.
There are no major catalysts on the horizon for a major rally in crypto. Bitcoin miners are switching over to Artificial Intelligence compute. The interest in crypto seems to be at very low levels.
It seems like we are going to be in a range for Bitcoin for a few more months. What comes next is either a drop lower if the attention is still on AI or the speculative money is going to come back to crypto.
I wonder if crypto is going to be the infrastructure for the future financial system. Smart contracts are a good fit for automation such as AI agents that are going to be transacting with each other.
When is it going to happen? Probably at least a couple years from now which would line up pretty good with the next Bitcoin bull cycle.
So what it means for Hive? I don't know... do we really have smart contracts outside hive-engine? I don't hear anything about EVM compatibility for Hive blockchain. That is not a great sign for Hive.
Rising tides lift all boats, so if there a rally in crypto markets then Hive is going to go up, but it is not likely to be at the epicenter of the big future changes and generational wealth creation.
A lot to think about...
