En esta ocasión tengo una especie del género Spathoglottis que cuenta con unas 47 especies de distribución cosmopolita, es decir que se adaptan a cualquier tipo de clima alrededor del mundo.
On this occasion I have a species of the genus Spathoglottis that has about 47 species of cosmopolitan distribution, that is, they adapt to any type of climate around the world.
Está a diferencia de otros géneros de orquídeas son terrestres, es decir que pueden tenerlas en macetas con tierra abonada cómo cualquier otra planta floral.
Este género de orquídea se caracteriza por crecer de un pseudovulvo en un tallo recto y las flores se abren durante varios meses.

Aunque este género es originario de países asiáticos en islas como Filipinas y Chinas estás se encuentran distribuidas por todo el mundo como una de los géneros preferidos para jardines ornamentales.

La especie que tengo en mi jardín se conoce como Orquídea Terrestre u orquídea de jardín, pero su nombre científico es Spathoglottis plicata. Es una especie de fácil cultivo y rápido crecimiento. Además las inflorencias se dan todo el año.

Esta especie pueden tener flores de color morado, rosado, blanco, e incluso hay algunas variaciones en color amarillo. Yo poseo 3 de estos colores.

Esta orquídea puede crecer en una maceta o en la tierra directamente, y se adapta bien a la luz solar y a los ambientes relativamente fríos.
