Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

I've been away from Hive for a while. I missed last week social media challenge and weekly challenge. I even missed to post on @actifit for a couple of days.
Now, I am back with posting. Even though I didn't post, I kept playing splinterlands. This season have been not a bad season for me. I had up and downs, but not as bad as previous seasons and I am currently around 900 points.

The battle I am going to report is Live vs Live battle with Silenced Summoner rule, no effect from the summoner. It was 24 mana capped match. Available splinters are Earth and Life. At around 24 mana with Life splinter to choose, best combination for current level may be Shieldbearer and Venari Crystalsmith pair with an addition of shield repair. This combination is annoyingly hard to crack. I included Pelacor Arbalest for the firing power. The only problem with Pelacor Arbalest in combination with Shieldbearer may be the speed, it is pretty slow that it tend to miss enemies with good speed or flying ability. With the Taunting ability of Shieldbearer, all weak monsters are well protected.

_{With only two splinters to choose from, my opponent also came up with Life splinter with boosting health and more shield protection. Enemy team started the attack for my team members were slowed down by Time Mage. Shieldbearer health was restored to 8 and shield was repaired.}

_{Enemy Time Mage got to the first place after a rather weak Gargoya Scrapper was eliminated. Shieldbearer lost two more health points. Although Time Mage avoided some attacks, it was also eliminated in the 2nd round.}

_{As one attack was reduced, Shieldbearer health was reduced only one more point to 5.}

_{Although Shieldbearer health was reduced to 1, health was restored to 4 and shield was repaired to 2. When my team attacked, two enemy cards were down and enemy Pelacor Arbalest got to the first place and couldn't attack and shield was removed as a result of Truthspeaker was out.}

Did my strategy work?
I think Shieldbearer, Venari Crystalsmith and Scavo Hireling combination almost always work. Very tough to crack Shieldbearer with healer and shield repair behind. But once Shieldbearer was out, it become very easy.
