Everything is growning nicely: Hivegarden Update Week 15
We have some good weather ahead here in the Netherlands. With lots of sun and raising temperatures it's nice to go out in the garden. Next weekend the temperature reaches almost 20 degrees C which is very pleasant.
Two weeks ago I showed the first sprouts of the zucchini's and cherry tomatoes. These have been growing steadily indoors.
Here are the zucchini's which I really have to move to give them some more space. I wonder when I can move them outside. I'll have to figure that out as well.
In the front you can see the cucumber has also sprouted.
And here is the status of the cherry tomatoes (on the left) and the sweet peppers (on the right).
Additionally I've planted some forest strawberry seeds in a separate bin.
In the small vegetable garden outside I've planed some radish a while ago and they have also sprouted.
The carrots and cauliflower I planted back in September seems to be growing nicely. At least above the ground. The roots of the carrot are still small and white. I wonder if there will actually grow a cauliflower from one of the plants. At least they look nice.
The center part of my garden is for flowers and plants. The Rhododendron has a lot of flower buds already. I can't wait for the nice pink flowers to show up.
On some spots in between the different plants I've sprinkled flower seeds. I hope this will attract a lot of insects. I had one can of flower seeds especially for flowers that attract butterflies. I hope this will work. At least I see some of the Oxeyes I had moved to this part of my garden are showing again. They always completely vanish above ground in winter, but reappear in spring. The Oxeye will get beautiful yellow flowers that attract butterflies and other insects.
Both the plum as the apple are blossoming. The plum has these beautiful little white flowers.
The Japanese crabapple is also getting ready to blossom. It already has a lot of pink flowers. When they open up the entire tree will be a sea of pink.
The raspberry is doing great every year and is looking good already. It's forming nice new leaves and some new cuttings emerge from the soil. This plant really multiplies itself a couple of times every year. We've already made a lot of people happy with a cutting from our plant.
Stay tuned for following updates of my Hive gardenjournal!
