As you might have noticed by my recent posts I am on holiday in Tuscany, Italy.
The cities and towns are so beautiful.
In the last blogs I mainly focussed on the large hisoric buildings.
In this blog I focus more on the details, this time of the city Arezzo.
I really love the narrow Italian streets. Each neighborhood has it's own flag and there is often a lot of rivalry between the different neighborhoods.
They challenge each other in a medieval jouse reenactment twice a year.
Every Tuscan city has statues of people that have been important for Italy, the region or the city.
This is the statue of Ferdinand III, Grand Duke of Tuscany. He was the elector of Salzburg (1803–1805)
Not only the statue itself is beautiful, the pedestal is decorated as well.
Something you see a lot in the old city centers are wooden doors with doorsteps.
The peeled paint makes it a really authentic.
Another thing you will notice here are the large number of scooters. The streets are often very narrow and steep since they are built on the Tuscan hills. You can't go around with big cars and cycling is not funny here. So people ride scooters.
This statue in front of a church in Arezzo pictures Ferdinando I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
I really like these wall sculptures. They are often quite small and you might not notice them since you have to look up to see them, but they can be really pretty like this dragon like fish.
I really like this last shot. Again a wall with peeling paint and a little picture cemented in the wall.
I hope you like my blog!
Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I'm sharing my photos on Hive, Noise.Cash & APPICS.
I would love to read what you think of my photos in the comments.
